Hi Moonee,
Nice to know your DD in P5 too. Stressful SA1 right? Do you know the average score for Science and Maths? -
Hi Aslmum..... Is yr girl in P5 E or F ? Well, yes its more demanding in p5 than in p4. The SA2 papers for P4 surprisingly was very simple compared to SA1 then.
You should have gotten all the exam papers back by yesterday( Friday )for checking.
The level average for maths (including 5E/F ) is ...58/100
Ive only received section B for science so dont hv the level average for science. Whats yr girls general opinion of the SA1 exam, did she find maths and science difficult? I find answering techniques for section B in science most challenging.

KSP:
can anyone share how to get good marks for higher chinese?
I was having the same thought as my girls H/c marks drop, Ive been trying to get her to read chinese story books but she refuses. I do send her for enrichment classes but feel she needs more exposure to higher level of teaching. Ive given her holiday classes at Jiang Education but she did not like the environment there. They are quite good actually, a good place for compo would be busy bees.

Does any P3 parents know what is the level average score for the SA1 maths paper? My dd’s paper only indicated the class average, the level average score was not filled in…

Thanks for sharing. But I'm really surprised that the level average for maths is 58..... i thought RGPS is one of the best in Maths in sg...... with this level average i would estimate about 1/4 to 1/3 failed (below 50) the Maths subject.....Hi Aslmum..... Do you mind sharing the level average for other subjects in P4(if u can remember) and P5. At least we can be mentally prepared for the shock and not get heart attack when our dds get back the marks. Thanks. -

My dd's paper also didn't indicate the level average too. Maybe need to ask during the PCD this Fri. -

Will bring my girl along.
I figure out that whatever her teacher conveys to us in her presence, will sink in much better than I being the \"messenger\"

Yes KSP, the stds are high thats why u see 58/100 now and failures too…Generally there will be a big drop in P5. It gets more stressing especially with 4 subjects to work on. For Math…its more difficult and many of the students find it harder to handle as there are many new topics to be added on and got to think more out of the box…no more like in p4.
The marking standards are high and they have to maintain that way in preparation for P6.
The school normally start preparing the girls well for PSLE so they are doing quite a good job starting them out hard in p5 and by the time they reach p6, they would complete the syllabus and its revision time. More relaxing next year i guess.
I will try to check out the level average for last yrs P4 n post whatever i can find.
