          yup. they do. no idea on the percentage. but for competitive sparring there are probably fewer girls than boys particularly in the older age groups in the junior categories - more chance to win medals in primary school! haha

            tkd is a korean martial art based on kicking and blocking techniques while aikido is a japanese martial art based on locks, holds and throws - like judo.

              for girls in primary school to learn some form of self-defence, what would you recommend ? TKD, Akido, or others ?

                  Wonder would any CC take in TKD for age 5+ kids a not.

                    Yes I did enquire & they suggest to come in maybe the kid at age 7 or 8 then start. Yes CC is quite a big group but those TKD school on average cost like $100-$120 per month.
