hi,
can i have some advice here? my dentist advised me to do dentures as my teeth are quite weak (with cracks & decays).
i am quite for the idea until i heard the cost & negatives of it.
i was told i need min $3K - $4K for the whole set of dentures including extraction of teeth. then i will need to wait 1 week for the healing to take place & wounds covered up nicely before the new dentures can be fixed onto. which means, i wld be wo teeth for that 1 whole week. no temp teeth will be given to me.
but my mil told me that having dentures wld hinder my eating, especially hard stuff like biscuits, apples, etc..
how now? -
Just want to check with parents. How long does your child take to brush his teeth with the braces on? My dd takes 30 min, she uses 3 types of toothbrush, followed by mouthwash.
-
Hi wcw, she uses one after another, followed by mouthwash. Good to be careful about oral hygiene, esp with braces on. Just what to check other kids spend how much time brushing.
-
I used to floss my girl’s teeth after she brushed.
WCW, I started playing with my girl dentist game at home. I was the dentist and she the patient. I have a set of tools that dentist use and I actually use it on her teeth while playing the game. I poke around abit so that she get used to it being in her mouth. After 4 games, I brought her to a "real" dentist and it worked. Maybe you can do the same? -
hi peapot,
where you buy the set of tools that dentist use ? -
WCW:

Didn't started brushing his teeth earlier caused his front teeth started to decay. In the end did filling for the front teeth. -
Funz:
DS milk teeth is starting to give way. Phew, no need to extract afterall. Now the concern is on DD. Her two front teeth came off since last year and till now, 1yr+ already and they don't seem to be growing. Hehe. She looks pretty cute without them. Told her to get her school dentist to check, the last time they checked, which was earlier this year, the dentist said normal. But now another 6 mths already and still no sign of the teeth ever growing. Now waiting for school to start then she can go get them looked at again. Thanks Schweppes and Wildboys.
Just called the School Dental Services. Next available date is in September. Think too long a wait.
Think I will wait a couple of weeks to see if his milk teeth start giving way. If they do then no problem, if not, then looks like no choice, gotta go private. -
Hi,
Any of your kids seeing dentist in primary school? Did the dentist do the scaling and polishing for them? If yes, how many times per year? And also do they inform the parents before they give any treatment eg. fillings, extractions? -
Hi Chimes,
The dentist will check on pri sch kids once or twice a year. Scaling and polishing will be done. If there is a need for any treatment like extraction or filling, it’ll be done on the spot. There are so many students , it is not possible for the dentist to call up parents before treatment. If you are not comfortable with this, you can opt out of this dental service. The sch will issue a letter to parents at the beginning of the year informing parents of the dental service. You can choose to opt out. -
WCW:
oh... he willing to go dentist?
Of course, the dentist jie jie will give him balloon after he completed his checkup.
