      Rena:
      Hi all

I just call GESP.. the person doesn't seem to review much...she told me today abt 100 applicant.....

i think today we shd be able to see MOE update.....
Think all Pri Schools in Bt Merah would hit more than 100 range. Let's wait at 8pm for the updates at MOE website.

Very likely RMPS (1Km Ballot) & ZDPS (1-2Km ballot). 🙏

              QMS, Chipmunks & Rene,

All heading to RMPS yeah? 60+ register in AM seem very shocking news.
Ya, went to reg RM tis morning. Thought I was very early at 8:45am, but my Q no was already 66 !! :!:

There were 4 stations to go thru & the whole process took 1 hr as there were many people reg at the same time. They will conduct the balloting for phase 2C on 10 Aug internally & the results will be announced on 11 Aug.

When I asked the different counters how we will be notified of the results, I had different answers : school will call u, check out the sch website on 11 Aug am, check out the Teletext, check out MOE website, sch will post results to u. Wondering why they don't sms to parents the results on 11 Aug :?

When I left an hour later, the Q no already hit 100 !!! :faint:

Didn't check with them the no. of applicants for each home-distance range but got a strong feeling that balloting will be conducted for those within 1 km...
              😛

RadinMas is a very old school, think since 1926. It was an all-boy school when my hubby studied at the old premise at the foot of Mt Faber.

                  Luanee:
Haha I stayed there for 10yrs in the 1980s, with RMPS just across the road... it was such a new school then and not hot at all! Should have studied there in order to qualify under 2A now, hee...

                    Chipmunks,

Should have ask you take photo of the P1 registration at RMPS as how is it like in Phase 2C. 0845hr you already at Quene 66? Don't think they would SMS inform you the balloting result.

How come balloting being conducted internally? I thought all school where balloting is transparent & parents can come witness the entire process? :x Seem like RMPS not able to provide the breakdown distance as like other schools, maybe today had 120 they key until crazy already. :?:

                        Hi

Just to share my child’s wonderful experiences in ZDPS. No doubt it is a neighbourhood school; it has great curriculum, good character development and incredible teachers. My child was with ZDPS since P1. I have to transfer him to another school in term 3 as we have relocated to another estate. I shouldn’t have transferred him out at all. I regretted my decision. Sigh…

My child was a buddy writer in ZDPS. His language and mother tongue have improved tremendously since P1. In ZDPS, P1/P2 same teachers and same class, teachers will be able to guage different child’s learning ability. The higher/middle/lower ability child will be learning slightly different things even though they are in the same class doing the same curriculum. The composition- vocabulary for higher ability child is more and expressive to focus on their writing skills. Content and language were highlighted in the compo so parents will be able to assess the child’s strength and weakness. In P3, your child will learn literature. I think it is really good. Most school starts from P4.

Currently, my child is transferred to another school in the west , which the compo was brought back home to do and worse it was not marked by the teacher and instead edited by the peer and my child and I were confused why the peer circled all the irrelevant letter. The teacher even said that my child is attending the best class but there are some weaker children so she has to cater to the lower ability child. The worksheets given were too easy for my child. It was what my child used to do in ZDPS in P1. The syllabus is too slow. What my child covered in term 2 for the Stellar program in ZDPS is what the current school is covering in term 3.My child is also taking higher mother tongue in the new school. He was even asked to show how to read a passage to his peers. ZD has set a strong foundation for my child. See there is a difference. ZDPS looks into the needs of every child.

ZDPS children are also very confidence and outspoken. In P1, children will have ‘show and tell’. Children are also encouraged to read many books. There are also leaderships training program for the children in P2.
In P1, they are given leaders roles and in P2 children were selected to be prefect on duty. There were also many certificates given to the child such as the most hardworking student in the month, the best microsoft type writing skills etc. The children are also very motivated to perform well.

Most importantly, the staff in ZDPS is also very friendly and my child was very happy and had enjoyed the one and a half years there.

My child has developed greatly because of the teachers’ efforts in ZDPS.

In 2007, I have other options to send my child to RMPS, RVPS, GESPS. I selected ZDPS based on survey from other parents and colleague. My colleague’s son also graduated from ZDPS and went to RVHG-HCJC. This year her son scored As for all his subjects for his ‘A’ level and will study engineering in NTU. The other parent’s child went to RGS last year too.
