Hi Tweety,
P1 to P3 are not really expected to take up any CCAs. However, if your child joins any of the Alumni courses, such as Wushu, Speech and Drama, etc., it can be accepted as a form of CCA. However, Alumni courses are conducted by external party, and therefore, parents will need to pay course fees. -
My 2 boys in P3 & P6.

Hi BlueBells,
many thanks for your reply. A few more questions, do the children stay in the same class from P1 to P2? How many PE lessons are there in a week? Can P1 join their chess club?
Thanks in advance for your help....this is my first time sending children to P1
Hence, I am already planning what CCA to join, how many sets of PE attire to buy etc... -
Hi Tweety,
PE lessons are 3 times a week, and so far, the kids remain in the same class from P1 to P2.
I am not so sure about Chess club, because my kids have not started on any CCA, since it wasnβt required from P1 to P3. My P3 tried to join Brownie this year, but was told she can only join in P4. -
Hi BlueBells,
thanks for your fast reply. Now I know how many sets of PE attire to buy
For the alumni courses, r they conducted on weekdays or weekends? -
Hi Tweety,
Alumni courses are conducted on weekends.
With your questions, I presumed you have successfully enrolled your child in NCPS? -
Hi BlueBells,
yes
we are successful in getting a place in NCPS. I am actually thinking of buying three sets of PE attire but is it too many? Or two sets are enough? Also, how many types of T-shirts do they have? I remember seeing one with blue collar, is that the one for PE? Or do they have another type which is round neck?
i am quite interested in the speech n drama enrichment but there are already ongoing things on Saturday mornings. Is the speech n drama also on Saturday mornings? -
My son is in P1 too.
In fact, the school has introduced Speech n Drama as part of the class lesson. They have both English and Chinese Speech n Drama. My son likes it a lot. -
Oh yes, as what H2O said, the school recently introduce speech and drama for P1, and we pay a fee out of their edusave account, but it is incorporated into their lesson time. I still think it is a pretty good exposure. After all, drama is a also a form of art.
Uniforms - I bought 2 sets of uniforms and 3 sets of PE attires (only one type available), so that if I am caught up in my work to do laundry, I don't have to worry about them being short of school attires. That having said, I also bought them each 5 pair of socks ... a little overkill, maybe.

HI BlueBells,
Did you send your kid to before/after school care? If so, which one?
