      Hi Joyceling

I heard PV selection in St Hilda's is rather strict because they are too many applicants. I am not sure this is not the only school that conduct interviews for PV. I heard Gongshang does the same as well, just that this year due to H1N1, the meetings/interview has been cancelled.

You may want to call up the schools to find out more on the process to apply for PV.
      Hi Joyceling,

Understand the PV selection have had completed, all shortlisted parents had been called for the interview and short briefing.

You may want to call the school up asap to find out the status...

        Hi,

I deciding between a St Hilda's and a neighbourhood school. Anyone have any idea is PSLE results (for A&A*) for GEP schools higher mainly due to the 2 classes (60 students) of GEP students?

        Any feedback on St Hilda?
        :?:

I was just recently rejected by St Hilda's as a PV. My hubby is a 'old boy' of Gongshang Primary so my daughter is eligible to enrol in Phase 2A in 2011. Appreciate some feedback from all of you regarding Gongshang. Thanks.

                      KittyTan,
Gongshang is one of the popular schools in Tampines besides St. Hilda's. If I were you, I will register your child in Phase 2A and save all the headache.'

There are many ways to assess the school:
                      1. Achievement / awards recieved by MOE to the schools. Go to http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_index.asp and select the Primary to find out more about the school

                      2. School's PSLE result. Some school post this result in the school website. Alternatively you can ask from the school directly.

                      3. Past 3 years P1 registration phase by phase take up rate. You can see that all the popular schools require balloting by Phase 2C. Gongshang has that similar record.

                      4. Popularity poll in KSP.com when you enter the thread of Tampines Primary School. Gongshang is one of the most popular school other then St Hilda's.

However Gongshang has just changed the school Principal this year. The previous Principal of about 7 years was very good and brought the school to achieve today's result. Note that this new Principal is previously from Fernvale Primary School.

Hope this helps in your school selection.

Thanks MdmQ! Well said! That's exactly how one can do this research without having to ask someone else because all the above are based on facts and not hear-say.
