      Yap. I guess so.

That is why parents are usually not welcome to kindergarten or cc.

Becos when i was there i see a lot that i am not suppose to see. Taecher scolding a child who wet her shorts. Brought her to toilet and scolding non-stop.

I celebrated my child’s birthday in school. I see how young teacher handle kids. When kids requested something, the teacher was annoyed and answered" can you please don’t shout at me". When it is totally not.

      A lot of stories.

But what to do, parents need to work.

Teacher refused to reveal in details how many story books have been exposed to kids, how often and what kind of books. She simply advised that we read to them as and when we have time. We have library corner, drawing corner, block corner... so it depends on what books the kids pick.

When i queried further in average how many stories will be exposed. Then she answered 2 stories a week.

Fuzz, may i know which kindergarten has good reading programme? Can pm me.

May i know how old is your child?
I would be quite annoyed if the teacher refuses to share such info openly! I understand if teachers don't always stick strictly to the class schedule, as it's not good to be too rigid with young children anyway. They should always be encouraged to explore, as that's the best way for them to learn. So sometimes a certain activity may run over time, etc. To me, that's ok.

But I feel it's important for teachers to be open about sharing what they do each day, about your child's progress, how he/she responds to different activities, etc.

Anyway I'll pm you in a minute. Oh my boy is now 4 and 1/2.

            Hi,

I’m in a dilemma at the moment if I shd send my 22 mth ds to cc. I’m a SAHM with 3 kids, 9 yrs, 7yrs and 22mth. I also have a Indo maid helping out at home and she is the main problem I am facing now. Had a Philo maid but left after 2 yrs and this present maid is with me for abt 2 mths now…had quite a frustrated time dealing with her attitude and thinking of sending her off and not engaging one anymore.

At the moment still can’t make up my mind but have some thought and need some advice here. Thinking of some option and if I can cope w/o a maid at home. First, my toddler ds is picking up words very fast now and I was thinking he can be at the cc learning than pick up broken language from my maid. Second, then I would have some free time to do up all the household chores and can pick him up anytime in the afternoon.

But there are worries such as falling sick easily as had experience from my eldest ds previously and its true the cc being ‘cold’. In falling sick and spreading of virus, will there be any different between an air-con and non air-con cc?

If I did put my ds in cc, it will only be a passing period as I would ultimately prefer to enrol him in 3 hrs kindergarden when he reach 3 or 4yrs old.

Would appreciate of any feedback and advice, thank you.

Btw, anyone send their child to this cc, Sheffield Kidsworld at CCK…would appreciate to have some feedback on this cc.

my son went to childcare centre and supplemented with enrichment prgrams.

these would give more variety than just simply attending a childcare centre.

                pro and con I feel

go childcare i feel he/she will not be so alone at home although got someone to look at home
he/she at least got a std prog to follow, std time for meal, more interaction, etc

only thing is spreading of virus from other kid who are sick, of cos this is vise-versa and all heng-sway one

Had just enrol my ds in childcare and from what I observe for this 2 days, it was mainly childcare, quite lack of stimulation for the child in terms of their program and play, but still it depends on the teacher also, whether she is bubbling enough to arose their interest…and I do agree that to really stimulate the child, still need to go for those enrichment programme set out by the professional…

I’m a SAHM but wanted him to try childcare to learn to be more discipline and had more social interaction, but also feel guilty at the same time cos they are bounce to get sick more easily with all those runny nose just next to him…anyway, I still can keep him at home if its real bad, not like previously when I’m working and had no choice but to put my 1st ds in childcare…

i think is good for children to attend childcare. my child learns to become more independent

as for getting sick, i guess its rather common as the child needs the get used to the environment. once stabilize, all will be ok.

                        Hi buttercup23,

My girl also had nightmare when I sent her to previous childcare, even though she attended for 2days only. The nightmare went on for about a month before it stopped.

To your girl, it may be some experience that she is afraid of. Mayb can talk to her teacher to find out what happened in class first. Maybe can ask the teacher to put closer attention on her. Mayb can try to ask ur girl?

Or sometimes it maybe a matter of finding a suitable ccc. For my girl, one of my first criteria is she has to b happy at the ccc. Now she is attending another childcare and happy there. Never cried even on the first day. Guess is a matter of getting the child into a ccc tt she is comfortable with.

Hope tt helps. All the best to u n ur girl. :xedfingers:
