... Just like many of you, I have this stubbornly-biased love for the east. Parkway Parade and Pasir Ris Beach play a huge part in my decision to remain here...

High five, JoyJoy78! From one eastern lover to another, although I wouldn't put Parkway Parade as the reason to stay in the east... it is like the ONLY place that is worthwhile shopping in the east.

Geylang Bahru? That's where I spent my Primary and Secondary school career, at least before the renamed it to Upper Boon Keng Road. We moved there from our Mattar Road unit at the end of 1973.

Yup... I was at Block 11... the one facing the stadium. 3-room flat with a picture perfect view of fireworks when NDP was held at the stadium.

Yes, Parkway Parade is the grand old dame of a mall in the east. But I think Tampines Mall, Century Sq, and the latest Tampines 1 are not too bad too... πŸ˜‰

Sometimes hubby & I park our kids at Tampines Ikea smaland so we can do some serious grocery shopping next door at Giant in peace. πŸ˜„

That's assuming you can even park in there. I've not managed to enter Tampines Mall or Century square in my last 3 attempts, some more with some very hungry and grouchy kids sitting in the back of the car πŸ˜›

                      Hi SGoku,
Better late than never. :welcome: to eastenders club! It's good to keep up the tradition of visiting in laws every weekend. My parents stay in the west and I've not been visiting her every weekend. Mostly on occasions only. *guilty*

Erm...i seems a bit overage for this type of thing, but nonethless, the thought of getting our own place is so exciting!! :rahrah:
