my girl has been with SM for 2 years plus and i can see result in her memory esp in instant memory and also recital .. i can also see our classmates who (1 year) before are not doing anything special in class till now, they can recite the LM and also able to do instant memory all correct each time..

one thing i noticed/observe, parents' role.. perservere and patience with our kids, dun expect our child to be able to do superly well once enrol in SM.. it takes time.. and usually, the result wont be obvious before they turn 3 plus.. i was asking my DH the same question, should we stop ? but lucky thing my DH perservere.. and im happy we did continue and now, i really see the \"hard work\" we have put thru..

money wise, it's well spent.. as it's onlt at this stage that we can do this little bit for them, after that, we cannot reverse to this age to train them in this area. my opinion.

anyway, just choose the right brain class that u r comfortable.

to me, SM is my right choice. 🙂 gather feedback from frens and all on the class before enrol, believe in the method and not by sales tactic. then u r on the right track

My boy has been with Shichida Method (Kuala Lumpur branch) since 14 months old, now 28 months old, and we’re very happy with it. We do daily practice for about 30-60 minutes, and I plan to homeschool him till 5-6 years old. Currently, his language, memory skills and senses seem very good for his age. It’s indeed amazing what the right brain is capable of.

The real essence of the method is letting the child feel the parent’s love deeply and building a strong relationship. Then he’d also learn easily and behave well. 七田真0-6岁育儿法describes the method and philosophy behind very well.

          Ed1975:

          Hi Curiousdaddy,

It might be good for you to book a preview session with them as they conduct previeww session regularly in the centre. They should be a ble to answer your qn. I am not a professional in this aspect. Think you can check out their website http://www.mylittlegenius.com.sg to book a session.

I like bilingual as my experience with my elder child is that he was not exposed to chinese and is now quite adverse to spaeking chinese. All his enrichment was in english. I don't want the same to happen to my younger one. So if there is an brain stimulation centre that can also expose my younger one to chinese language, why not? My younger one just need more exposure as I believe their lang ability depends on what they had been exposed to since young. Don't want to make the same mistake as elder one.

My younger one has learned some simple chinese words since attending the mylittlegenius class. When he see the chinese teacher, he automatically call her lao shi and the english teacher, teacher. So I think he knows that she is a chinese teacher and should speak to her in mandarian. At least this is what I see for a start which I think is great!

          Hope I answered your qns.

          Hi Ed1975,

Thank you for linking me to the website and asking me to go for the preview at My Little Genius. Didn't expect to get so much knowledge out of the 1 hour spend there!

It was a very insightful talk.

Have a good overview of why we should start our children early. Initially I thought it was just a kiasu mentality... However after the preview talk, i find the person making a lot of sense... And never occurred to me that being kiasu for my child at his early age also coincide with his right brain development. So glad i'm kiasu at the right timing! :boogie:

I also got a few tips on how to get young children to read!

Just curious, the person mentioned children can easily be trained on their Photographic Memory. How is your child doing in this area?

Btw, I've registered my child to start on the program next term!

Looking forward to attend the class with my son! :dancing:

          Cheers!

          hi,

sorry for late reply as been very busy with work. So far so good for my child. He is really enjoying his time at mylittlegenius. As for your question on photographic memory, in mylittlegenius, they are also doing the memory training. Initially, he was not very keen on doing the memory game/ training. However towards the end of the term, he seems to be getting better and better with the memory game. For the last few lessons, he has been getting it all right! So proud of him! Whether this will help him in his photographic memory, time will tell but at this moment in time, I am very happy with the result.

Great that u had signed up for the programme. Hope your child will benefit from it as well.

          cheers!

              Hi Micollh,

              Thanks for sharing!

Great to hear your child has benefited from SM!

And i'll take your advise to put in the \"hard work\" for my child even though i didn't sign him up for SM.... I signed him for My Little Genius...

Over these period of time i've picked up quite a lot of knowledge and tips from other parents! Thank you for all the great sharing parents! :thankyou:

Also got to realize that a happy and empowering environment is very important for my boy to grow! :rahrah:

Will share more with you how's my boy doing as he progress with MLG. And do continue to share about your child success! I'm so inspired to \"work hard\" for the next few years before the window of opportunity closes...

              Cheers!

                Hi Ed1975,

                Thanks for your sharing!

My boy just started his My Little Genius class!

My wife feedback that he’s rather attentive in class! Never expected him to be able to complete his class! I really has under estimated my boy’s potential! I’m learning and discovering new things through my son everyday! He never fails to give me pleasant surprises!

My wife was delighted that he was observing attentively most of the time in class. Anyway, can’t tell much at this time…

ok, got to go play with my boy…

                cheers!

                      Hi,

I have not attended any right brain schools, I only read most of Shichida’s books before birth, now my DD is 5+ and I am still homeschooling her ( Malaysia), what I did to her was materials that I DIY, my advice to NEW parents is to start " young", if you are a SAHM, then things come easy, imagine DD is 5, but she is reciting 36x36 timetables, able to grip abstract Maths concept such as negatives, able to do decimal, fraction, and conversion…, I guess this is the result of Shichida’s method which I started since she was a month old, the training is effective, who wld believe a 5 yo child would read out " stratospheric nacreous", "Mesospheric noctilucent " etc when I flashed to her all 32 cards on clouds formation with striking similarities…or to recite 1000 LM within 3 weeks with few rounds of audio listening… am thinking to join right brain class only now to see what are the new methods being introduced…
