Hi Windie
Not becos of her.I guess I am expecting more from Pats since I am paying for a premium sch. Overall, Pats is a gd sch…just that I have a high expectation. -

Hi discus! My son is on waitlist for several pre-schools for next year, and one of them is Pat's. Like you, I don't mind paying premium fees, but I sure hope they can deliver. Would you care to share with me the reasons that they did not meet up to your expectations? Would really appreciate it! You can PM me if you like.Hi Windie

Hi. May I know what area you're looking at? Or distance is of no matter to you? Also, do you prefer montessori/play-based/academic type?Hi pea,

Actually, I don't think I'm qualified to make many comments, as my child hasn't started any school yet. But I've been making the rounds, and have shortlisted some schools based on my impressions. But then I think you never know till your child has been attending the school for a while. It seems that about 50% of my friends change preschool at least once, and most of them had done their homework too!
It's very important for you to get feedback from your friends/neighbours/relatives etc and of course, from KSP forum!
After you've narrowed your choice to a shorter list, do make the rounds personally to get a feel of the place, and talk to the principal, or teacher if possible.
There are many great tips on what things to ask the school, from this forum. I think there's a thread on curriculum, sorry, I don't know how to post the link.
I went to 8 preschools, some I visited twice, or thrice. And although I'm on the waitlist for some, I'm still looking around...
Good luck! :celebrate: -
Hi Pea,
I’m looking at the east area. Hv gone to the forum to look for the info on the east area. But maybe I’m too ks. Just feel the info is nt sufficient. So trying to gather as much info in other sources as well.
I’m ok with all types of preschool teaching style but just want to make sure that he is academically prepared for P1. -

Hi all!
I’m considering Pat’s at Meyer, any parents who have any feedbacks?
I’ve met with the principal Sally, who brought us around the school. She’s a warm person, and very connected with the kids and they shower her with hugs!
Love the outdoors that comes with a mini pool and mini beach with sand. Visited the class while they were conducting the music music lesson, and liked how the teacher relates to the children and her enthusiasm.
My son’s 19 mths now, we were thinking of sending him to playgroup when he turns 2, but apparently Meyer do not have existing classes for children below 3. Sally suggested for me to enrol my son when he turns 2 and a half, and for him to join the 3 year olds. A little hesitant in doing that. She even suggested for me to go for Halifax branch if I wish to enrol him by 2 yrs. -
Hi Dee
It seems that Pat’s accepts children into the playgroup program only in the year that they turn 3. If your son is 2 next year, then it is true that you can only enrol him at Baby Haven at Halifax (not sure if any other branches offer that). That is the infant/toddler care section under Pat’s. At Baby Haven, the older kids have proper lessons including phonics from Letterland, so it is not just infant care services that they offer. It would probably be better for him to be with children of his age, bearing in mind that student/teacher ratio is also better for that age group and children at that age are less developed in terms of gross motor skills. I would be concerned if my younger children gets knocked over by older and bigger children. Lastly, if you intend to stay throughout Pat’s till K2, you will have to repeat K2 for another year when your son is 6yo while his friends would have moved on to P1. -
Hi, mommies of Pat’s schoolhouse,
I understand that Knowledge Universe has invested in Pat’s schoolhouse. Wonder if anyone can provide feedback on how that has changed Pat’s schoolhouse? like curriculum, management, teachers, etc?
Appreciate any feedback provided. Thanks.
