Seems like can only take 50% of applicants, according to MOE regulations.
Will RV increase the quota for DSA applicants if there are more qualified this year?sall:
All Y1 and Y2 are required to go the Kallang stadium to support the softball team on Tuesday.
The number of DSA applicants is 400, double that of last yr. Must be due to the good 'A' level results. -
I heard somewhere that RV only takes up to 60 for DSA each year. Probably that was because in the past, there were only 100-200 applicants. Taking up to near 200 if they are well qualified will place RV on par with schools like RI which usually admit half of its cohort through DSA.

They short-listed 150 applicants, so number of places for open admission will be reduced, then COP should go up since supply is reduced. -
sall:
But will most of the short listed be offered a place eventually? assuming that eventually 100 are offered and accepted a place. The number of vacancies will reduce by 40-50. That is probably about 2 points.WeiHan:

I don't have the figures but don't think is between 100 to 200. In year 2009 dd applied for DSA. The applicants were split into at least 2 different days to take the academic tests. When I brought dd to the Malan campus, the applicants filled the whole hall and at least 3 lecture theatres. That was only 1 of the 2 days I saw. -

With singtel? Means the ipad c/w 3G data plan?
If without 3G, students cannot do online assesment, research etc...Will not serve much purpose then.sall:
Any news on ipad?
From a reliable source, parents will pay a certain % but mostly subsidized by the sch. Amt is not finalised yet. The sch is still negotiating with Singtel, should be ready by Jan 2012. -

Any idea is there still chance to get CO if didn’t receive interview letter from RV?
-
That’s what I was told : This year’s 400 applicants is double that of last yr, 2010. Could it be 2010 has less applicants than 2009?
-
sall:
i think MOE regulation should be up to 50% of the cohort for IP schools and not 50% of the applicants.

so RV can accept a maximum of 200 thru DSA as intake is 400.
