Hi does anyone have recommendations for Aikido lessons for my 3 yr old kiddie?
-
Aikido Shinjukai have set up Aikiforest specifically for kids.

They are both run by Aikido Shinjukai.

They have about 50 dojos (mostly at CCs) as well as a headquarters. If really keen can train at various dojos and flexible. -
Original Title: Aikido for K1, around Bukit Merah area
My DS, who is going on to K1, has been learning karate as an enrichment in school for about a year. Occasionally, he will show off his moves at home, so he seems to like the physical aspect of the sport. However, recently he informed us that he does not enjoy his karate lessons. And the only reason he gave? He doesn’t like all the shouting.
I guess karate involves a lot of shouting of commands? My boy has always been a bit of a gentle soul, so my hubby and I weren’t too taken aback by his comments. We respect his preferences so we will be pulling him out after this term. However, he does seem to like learning some form of martial arts, and we would like to let him take on a sport, for a more healthy lifestyle. Hence, I was thinking of signing him up for aikido, which seems to be a more gentler form of martial arts.
Are there any parents who have signed your kids up for aikido? Do you recommend it?
Or should I explore other martial arts sports for my DS?
The CCs near me (Leng Kee, Henderson, Bukit Merah) do not seem to offer aikido. So far, the only aikido school which I know of around my area, is aikiForest at outram. Does anyone have any feedback on aikiForest?
And are there any other recommendations for aikido schools around Bukit Merah area?
Thanks for any feedback provided! -

Aikiforest is part of Aikido Shinjukai. They have classes for both children and adult at Delta Sports Complex and various cc - please see below :

I think they are quite good and instructors are patient in general. -

Thanks daddy2007! I did some googling, and I think the class there mixes both kids and adults, which might be better for DS if he's older. Will keep it in mind though!PapayaDad:
Thanks PapayaDad! I checked out one of the children-only aikido class in Delta Sports Complex. In the end, aikiForest still seems to have the best learning environment for really young kids, so we're most probably signing up with aikiForest. :xedfingers:Aikiforest is part of Aikido Shinjukai. Yes, aikiforest is best for pre-schooler as it is tailored for pre-schoolers.
You can pick it up too at one of the CC or at delta sport complex and next time learn/attend class together.
Have fun.
