[Jurong East/Jurong West] Preschools

Hi buds,
If you're into Montessori, can also consider Jurong West branch
at the Jurong West Recreation Centre. Should cover the Phonics
till Grammar, plus the Maths is very concrete. So, one wouldn't
require external enrichment programmes if these two are oredi
covered in the centre.
Just my few cents worth.
are you referring to the MMI Pre-School Centre at Jurong West Swimming Complex?
hi everyone,
i would like to look for a kindergarten for my gal who will turn 5 yrs old next year. seems rather late but do you all have any recommendations? -
Heyya tweeny,
Yup, was referring to that one.
Distance wise, would it be convenient
for you? If you do not need the care,
do find out from the centre if they do
provide only the academic + enrichmt
lessons for their afternoon programme.
Usually the afternoons are pretty quiet,
so they may open afternoon programme
like kindergarten hours and academic
subjects plus tea break.
Since it's towards the end of the year,
the teacher may be able to start with your
child from scratch as in a Montessori setting
your child would have the privilege of an
individual curriculum hence the ability to
learn at her own pace.
Alternatively, you may want to consider
a PCF centre with the usual academic
subjects + enrichment similar to where
tamarind sends her daughter to. You may
want to call up a few within your area and
find out if they offer a similar structure to
the above programme. PCF centre prg and
quality vary across the island. It will be gd
to find out from the individual centres of
your interest.
You can find out more from her thread at
the All about PCF centres here : Click the
blue link for access. http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=302&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Tamarind also has provided a link to her
blog where she shares the fun stuff her
daughter does in the kindergarten. Do
check it out.
For a centre that doesn't charge too high, i
think that PCF is doing a lot to prepare their
children for Primary 1 education.
Hope this helps, tweeny. -

quite near to Boon Lay interchange. Nice looking place....

From understanding, the Montessori will be higher but will their rate increase from time to time? :?
Am afraid you hafta ring them and
ask personally, okie? I do not have
that information mainly cause i do
not reside there hence have never
done any recce around that area...
Sorry can't be of much help here.. -
Hi buds,
thanks. unfortunately my in laws have rejected both the MMI @ Jur West & PCF @ blk 662 because they find it too far for them to fetch my girl.
i'm very interested in PCF @ blk 662 but there's no school bus arrangement. i'm still searching & surfing.... help help help....

Any school bus arrangement for the
first 2 centres? Then, your in-laws
can just fetch them from your void
deck or house? -
PCF @662 don’t have school bus arrangement. sad …

i wish to find 1 pure kindergarten without childcare component… jurong christian church is the safest bet now cos it’s near my in laws’ house

Hi tweeny,
I saw your comments on my blog.
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find good pre-schools in Jurong West.
You can try Zoophonics at 502 Jurong West Ave 1.

I know someone whose kids attend the kindergarten there, he has good comments about them. They definitely have school bus. -
hi there,
thanks a lot. i shall check out the centres with available vacancies this week. wish me good luck!
