SACPS focuses more on values than academic. Being a catholic school, it also focus on building catholic girls' faith, and they have masses during Days of Obiligations and once a week Praying Parents Group. With this, I don't need to rush my girls to church during Days of Obligations as I know the school would have arranged for mass.

Don't worry much about your DD in P1. They will be well taken care of as there will be prefects on duty to bring & guide them on & off school bus and direct them to assembly points. The prefects are very helpful, kind & approachable especially towards the lower primary girls.
The P1s will be assigned a buddy to help them buy and carry food during the first week of school. The buddy will look for them - don't worry. Let your girls know that the prefects are there not take opportunity to \"catch\" their wrong doings but prefects are there to help. Approach the prefects whenever they need help - even for small matter like calling mummy 🙂 The public/pay phone is a bit high for the P1 and you need coins to make phone calls. If you go to the General Office to call mummy, which is free, the lady there will have a string of questions to ask and end up sometimes reasons for calling not justified, DD can't talk to mummy.
There are many CCAs offered like archery, bowling, golf, taekwando, netball, ballet (always over-subscribe), violin, chinese dance, modern dance, caligraphy, cooking etc. Many of these are outsourced to external service provider but each CCA has a teacher responsible whom you can talk to during the year. CCAs are held during Monday to Friday. The school is good in perfoming arts.
P1 & P2 have no formal exams since 2 years ago. I think since government announced teach less learn more.
The CAs (P3, P4) and Mock Exams (P5) are not added or \"counted\" into the report book.
The school will start its new academic year in the new building in 2013.
Sign up as CCE (Cannossian Co-Educators) i.e. parents volunteer and you will be asked to be involved in the school activities like children's day, teacher's day, sports day, excursions...you will get to know more about the school and the parents. I have voluntered in many school excursions and I am proud to say that SACPS girls are very well behaved in the public and they are not \"noisy\".
Most school surely have some Kiasu parents lah...join the CCE and you may find some KS parents.
My girls are very happy there 🙂
            Good luck!

Hi Lilo, thanks for sharing so many things about SACPS...It is indeed going to be helpful for us who have DDs going into P1 next year 😄

You mean there is not even year end exam for P2? Then how do they conduct streaming when the girls go to P3? TIA!

no lah....no bullies there....at least for the few years which my gal was there......
i like the ex-principal very much.....dunno much abt the new P now.[/quote]Yah... ex-P was very nice. Students love her a lot. According to dd2, new P very strict. One good thing is that she mentioned that her vocab improved by leaps and bounds as P scolds them with \"cheem\" words. So, she's forced to check the dictionary for its meanings. haha

Former P went to CHIJ Nativity at Hougang.

Current P was the former VP (but she was VP for only a very short while - less than 6 months i think). But can see that she’s working very hard - and getting her teachers to work hard as well to improve the school’s standards.

Aiyoh… as for the class names… prefer it when it was named after flowers. Now it’s Steadfast, Piety, Justice, Courage, and 2 more which I can’t remember. Must ask dd2 but she in dreamland now
