      Hi,

For parents with kids currently with Perceptum, your feedback is greatly appreciated. Bukit Timah is pretty far for me; but I have heard pretty good feedback about Perceptum and am really thinking of giving it a try.

        24hr-mum:
i hv tried 3-4 lessons in term 1 and its below my expectations.

no experiment. just classrm based wksheets. and no notes.
not sure abt now but heard many hv pulled out.
        tinkerlab is better
Is your kid still with Perceptum. Am really considering enrolling my kid there but this would mean I need to withdraw her from her existing class and that is why I am very troubled now. Greatly appreciate your feedback on their Science programme.

The challenge with Science I think is whether the kid get the concept right is be able to apply it when the question are slightly different and therefore it is important that the teacher is able to explain the concepts clearly ... thus far ... how do you find Mrs Sim ... was she able to get the concepts across?

what level is ur child? mrs sim doesnt teach p3/p4. my girl now p3, was under mona. their worksheet is very normal, my girl sci class tinkerlab is much better. interactive and yet exam focused. i personally think that the star tutors is only at p5 p6 for perceptum.

the class size was big (heard a few withdraw too) and much time spent on controling the boys

                24hr-mum:

learning lab - mixed feedback. very ex.

sci buddies, seems gd but not really sure
mindstretcher - it depends whc teacher u get, even if the materials are gd
u lookg for wat subject? wat abt chinese? where u go?

Thanks again for your feedback! Appreciate it. Guess it's always a challenge to find a good centre with so many around. Agree that when find a good one, generally what it comes down to is the teacher.

Am looking for enrichment for Science. For Chinese, I go to a private tutor's place along Bukit Timah.

                Hi CMF,

How is your son's chinese tutor? I am looking for a tutor for my kid. Anyway, have you found a science centre yet? I was thinking of Science Buddies but not sure if theirs is just more on experiments or do they focus more on exam skills. Learning Lab seems good also but want to hear more feedback before deciding.

This may be out of topic, but since you seem to live in bukit timah area,
you have any good recommendations for english centres or tutors? Am also looking for one in that area.

Am quite happy with the current Chinese tutor, except that traveling time to her place can be a hassle, as it's not that near my place.

Am still looking around for a Science enrichment, at this point, it's between Learning Lab & Science Buddies, although have read mixed reviews on both centres.

Sorry, not aware of English enrichment around Bukit Timah area.

It's indeed a task to seek out good enrichment centres!!

Thanks CMF, if you do decide between Learning Lab or Science buddies, maybe you could let me know how it is? Yes, finding good centres with good teachers are really a headache!
