Is $450 the minimum salary now for all new maids/transfer maids regardless of country or years of experience? All the agencies I called said the maids get $450 min. thanks.

Ive looked through some filipino biodata last week. All Fresh applicants ask for 450 with one off day. Except for one $400 with one off day. Some have few years Fexperience in middle east also 450. Funny right.
-
Most even asking for 2 Sun or every Sun off + $450. The agencies I checked with were backing them up on this, so I was wondering if this was new policy across the board for all agencies in Singapore or just coincidence for the ones I checked with, ie. Netmaid.com.

Hmm…do not check with just netmaid. I can’t comment much because this is afterall a public forum. But my advice is check with other agencies. My maid is ex-sin 4 years and starting pay is $450.
-
I think a lot of them just put $450 as standard but if you talk to them you will find that the maid is willing to accept less or to start at a lower salary with a promise of an increase after 6 months if she performs well.

My 1 month old maid with no prior overseas experience is getting $400, w no off days.
So, not all maids are asking for min $450.
If you have the time, then "shop" around a bit more. -
My maid told me that new maids from Philippines are getting $450 with 4 off days!!!

Can anyone advise if I want to exchange my 3 months old maid with another maid from the same agency, what will be the procedure? If the new maid has 7 months old, do I pay in advance for her again? Then I would have paid 6+7mth advances. Some more have to pay for additional levy for 1st maid until she finds a new maid?

Depends on if the new maid has any outstanding loans. Even if she has paid off all her loans, it is likely that the agency will charge her some fees for the new placement.
So depending on how much she owes the agency, the agency will offset the balance amt prepaid for your old maid for this new maid. Then you will hv to top up the rest.
Levy is one thing, there is also insurance cover for the new maid.
Changing maid is always costly to employers.
