      SUPERCKJ:
Anybody did the 2011 RGPS Prelim Science MCQ.

Qustion 28 with a test tube at the top part and an ice protected by metal gauze.

Question: Which one best explains why ice at the bottom tube takes a longer time to melt?

Is the ans 4? Metal gauze prevent heat from reaching the ice.

      Hi Uncle/Auntie SUPERCKJ,

The answer is (3) Water conducts heat away slowly.

Hi - Could I confirm if the answer for this question is :

Abdomen and Thorax only or Head, abdomen and Thorax or anything else. http://i51.tinypic.com/i2sm8k.jpg\"> aa

For such question, I always try to find the answer from the picture by \"spotting the differences\" :

        tentacle becomes antennae
        simple eye becomes compound eye
        mouth becomes proboscle
        true leg becomes leg
        nothing becomes wings
shape of head, thorax, abdomen becomes different
        proleg disappeared

So my answer is true leg is the part that that did not change.

          Hi Auntie atutor,

          I put \"The thorax did not change.\"

          Is it acceptable?

          TIA.

:rahrah:[/quote]I remembered that the ovule contains egg cell or ovum. Sometimes egg cell is also loosely called egg. So I pick (1) because the question is asking for \"cell\".

The air in the flask gains heat from the hot water and expands pushing the coloured water up the tube.

The coloured water gains heat from the hot water and expands and moved up the tube.

Please advise which answer is correct.
                TIA.
I will put both : The air in the flask gains heat from the hot water and expands pushing the coloured water up the tube and the coloured water also gains heat from the hot water and expands and moved up the tube..

Use bigger blades for the windmill because bigger surface area will catch more wind and more KE from the wind will be transferred to the blade.

                    r2010:
                    Red Swastika q 8

Which of the following takes place at Part A (stomach)?

                    3. Digestive juices and the mixture of food are churned into a thick paste.
                    4. Digestive juices moisten and totally break down into simpler substances.

The answer key said 3. However, my DS said that it is 4 as the stomach do not turn into a thick paste.

                    Can someone please help me.
                    thanks
                    (3) is preferred. (4) is not acceptable because of the word \"totally\" which means completely.
