I'm new here~~
currently a mum of a 7mth old gal n expecting a boi in 19 Nov 09..
i'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this.. but well heck..
I've research bout flashcards n realise tat there r 2 proper methods (of cuz some parents got their own method n it's working) to use the flashcards..
1 is the Glenn Doman method, the other is the Shicida method.. anyone can tell me wat's the difference between the 2 methods? n how to apply the 2 methods?
i noe of some places teach kids with these 2 methods..
Shicida class (shicida method), little neuro tree (glenn doman method)..
which one (or if there's any other \"schools\") should i enrol my kids in? or which one should i check out?
TIA -

I think Union Book Store at Bras Basah Compex #03-01 sells it. At children section. You may call to check before go down. Contacts : 63380696 / 63373733. -
Needy:
I know where to get them already. In fact, I find the Level 1 set a waste of money since my baby already is familiar with all those words.Hi Phankao,

Can get from Growing Fun, nurture craft or other similar type of shops. Usually S$74/set and if you're member, and additional 10%. Much cheaper than Union bookstore which sells it at S$79.90. -
BbpHir3:
More familiar with the Shichida method but here is what I think is the main similiarity and differences.[Moderator's note: Topics merged.]

Main similiarity: Flash cards to child for 1 seconds or less to the child.
Main Differences:
Objective
GD: Teaching Math, Language and Knowledge.
Shichida: \"Open up the rightbrain\"
Content and presentation
GD: Goes into detail on how words and math and knowledge related topics are presented. e.g. usd red words with Arial font wih certain size.
Shichida: Very little rules... you can flash maths, words, songs, stories, concepts and mix the cards to make it more interesting for the kids. -
mincy:
I wonder why GD suggests Arial since the small 'a' is not how young children are taught to write. When my kids were younger, I preferred to use Comic sans. Now, I use a variety of fonts to get them familiar with all sorts of fonts.

I just bought a set of Spanish Flashcards, and hope to recap dd’s on the language since we’ve been living in Spain some time back. Anyone has any experiences in flashcards for pre-schoolers? Look forward to your sharing.

Any idea which are the eye training programme available for young preschoolers? I was told that it will compliment the flashcard training he is going through.
