There is SA for P2 but the full year assessment is not based on SA alone.


for example for English

- Show & Tell (in Term 2) carries 10%
- Listening Comprehension (in Term 2) carries 10%
- Writing (in Term 3) carries 10%
- Oral, as part of SA (in Term 4) carries 10%
- Written, as part of SA (in Term 4) carries 60%

anyone knows if parents are allowed to accompany p1 students on the first 2-3 days of school?

when will we be notified of their classes? during orientation or by mail before that?

was thinking of getting DD’s uniform before the orientation to avoid long waiting time.

can we do that? is the vendor around on normal school days?

If you have received the orientation letter, you should be able to see the class allocated on thee address label on the envelope… You should see her name then at the far end, P1_.


The school uniform will be available from the school bookshop only… Everyday During their opening hours.

I only remember being in school on the first day. The children will go to their respective classes while the parents stay in the hall for briefing by the department heads. We only get to see them during the recess break. I dun remember being there on the 2nd or 3rd day.

For PE t-shirts, you will need to check which house your child is in… Last year, we had to check the list they put up on the board just beside the bookshop. School socks, shoes can also be bought from the bookshop.

thanks for your reply. There's no address label per se. It was the type with a clear window showing the child's name and address as shown on carbon copy, written by the parent during the p1 registration.

If we won't know the \"house\" until orientation then I guess it is futile to get the uniform first...

I think you’ll receive your letter regarding the orientation nearer to date… You’ll see your child’s class and his/her register number on the top of her name on the address label. Last year, we received the letter about 10 days before the orientation.

The bookshops will remain open for many days/weeks during the school holidays. You will be given the opening hours… No hurry to get your school supplies on orientation day.
