      6) 30 children attended a party. Each girl ate 3 chicken wings and each boy ate 4 chicken wings. The boys ate 36 more chicken wings than the girls. How many boys attended the party?

      Hi

      Please refer to this link. There is a similar type of question.

      There are 40 pupils in a class. If each boy is given 3 sweets and each girl is given 5 sweets, the girls will have 56 sweets more than the boys. How many girls are there in the class?

      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=280&start=1570

      For every increase of 1 girl, the difference in the number of chicken wings drops by 7

      120 - 36 ----- 84
      84/7 ----- 12

      Girls ----- 12
      Boys ----- 18

      Best wishes

      Hi Tianzhu! Seriously, I've great difficulty in understanding in solving this sum.
      How to tell the difference of chicken wings is dropped by 7 for every increase of a girl? How did you get 120 and why was it divided by 7? Ty! 😄

        Tysm for yr selfless and generous help! 😄 How did u get 133 in Box A and 180 in Box B in the end?

        Hi

        There are 57 coins in Box A and 256 coins in Box B. how many coins must be transferred from Box B to Box A so that there will be 47 more coins in Box B than Box A?

        Please refer to the phrase highlighted in pink.

        The total number of coins stays the same.

        If a child finds it necessary, he/she may want to draw a “Comparison Model” learned in lower primary maths.

        313 – 47 ----- 266

        266/2 ----- 133

        133 + 47 ----- 180

        Best wishes

          Hi

          Please have another look at the example given in the link and follow same steps for your question.

          Assume there were 30 boys and each boy ate 4 chicken wings, you’ll have (30*4) or 120 chicken wings.

          Next consider an increase of 1 girl, so for 29 boys and 1 girl, you’ll have a difference of (29*4) - 3 or 113 chicken wings.

          For an increase of 1 girl the difference is (120-113) or 7 chicken wings.

          Best wishes

                Assume all 80 chickens.
                80x2 = 160
                250-160 = 90
                4-2 = 2 (goat has 4 legs but chickens have 2 legs)

                90/2 = 45 -> no. of goats.

                Hence chickens is (80-45)=35.

                  Need help on this question please…

                  The total mass of 5 packets of flour and 4 packets of rice is 490 kg. Each packet of flour has a mass twice that of a packet of rice. What is the mass of each packet of flour ?

                  Thanks.

                    Hi

                    One way to solve it.

                    Rice ----- 1 unit
                    Flour ----- 2 units

                    Mass for 5 packets of flour ------ (5*2) ------ 10 units
                    Mass for 4 packets of rice ----- 4 units

                    14 units ----- 490
                    1 unit ----- 35

                    2 units ----- 70 (the mass of each packet of flour)

                    Best wishes

                      Let u be the mass of rice.
                      mass of flour is 2u.
                      5(2u) + 4(u) -> 490
                      14 u-> 490
                      u-> 35
                      2u -> 70
                      Mass of each packet of flour is 70kg
