The Alternative Story (TAS) - Discussion
-
TAS does not do Math, some of their teachers travel to the different centres. All should be using the same materials and teachers are trained to teach in the same way.
For Math, I have not personally tried all the centres that you have mentioned but I heard
good feedback from my friends for Concept Math and Andrew Er. -
Based on your list, prob TLL is the only thumbs up centre for both subjects you looking at

Thank you jeestan. Do you know if they will be selling the book at Popular?
-
It should be sold at Popular, that is what they said in a letter to us. Not sure when though.

Hi,
Anyone can tell me more on TAS’s methods for teaching compo? I got their books at the bookfest. Rather impressed. Would like to find out more before joining. -
They will teach the kids how to build tension-helps in plot develp, how to make the language more metaphor-like, and how to vary their sentence structures, they also get the kids to memorise at times certain parts of the compo. Later on, they will teach them how to apply.
You can read more on their website:

For those interested in their books and on which popular outlets to get them, you can
also find the info on their website:

Yup, seems like if you want both subjects in the same centre, then go for TLL. I said that I did not have personal experience with the Math centres you mentioned, actually I did enroll my kids in TLL Math before. But they could not cope with difficulty level, I did not want to mention it as I find they are good just not suitable for my kids.
Now my kids are at JEI, coping well. -
