      Hi all,

I sent my 1st DD to SM for almost a year now and I see a few differences in my child. She acts and thinks very differently from other children. She can grasp concepts after one or two times of introduction. However, I am pulling her out at the end of the year because of what I did to my 2nd DD.

I introduced the SM flashcards to my 2nd DD when she was 3 months and I was not expecting her to respond to it at all. SHe refused to see the cards but I still flashed the cards to her. Now at 10 months, my 2nd DD can vocalise what she wants, she can immediately grasp most concept I introduce to her and she is now learning phonics with my 1st DD.

So I derived from my experiences that SM is good introduced at an early age by the PARENTS. I didn't need to send her to SM to see the extreme progress my DD has made.

I admit the SM program is good but only if Parents are involved. I will still continue the doing SM on my own after pulling my 1st DD out because i feel it still benefits my DDs. But I'm not going to spend anymore money for something that affects my children most when I can do it for free....

Err. I thought we have to sit behind them directly. BTW, forgot to mention that the chair is a tad too small for my big butt.

          Hi Mummies with Shicida,

Do you think the part about energy balls, esp etc is useful when they start their primary school?
Is it some skills which u have to constantly practise if not, the skills will be lost?

My relatives’ kids are all with Shicida and they all claim that their kids improved alot.
The fees is not cheap, and its a big committment…
Coz i heard tat need at least 3 yrs to see the full effect.

Hope to get some reassurance here.
          Thanks.

          I’m considering LNT also.
          Any feedbacks?

I think energy ball is like a relaxation technique, the energy ball is just for fun, the relaxation techniques is breathing in and out.

The useful part are more on love of learning and memory bah.

              Hi,

I am interested to send my boy for Shicida training too. He is 4.5 yrs old…Not too sure if this is the right time…I noticed from the testimonial from parents on Shicida that most of the children attended at least 4 yrs and above. It sure looks like a long-term investment to me…

Can anyone share how long does it takes for a child that attended Shicida produce results ? Does the child’s mind are more analytical or they could "think out of the box" ? The Sichida sales video sure looks impressive but am wondering how long does it takes to show results…

The last PEC (seminar for parents) I attended, I remember it was said at least a year. My ds show some changes after the first month, which I thought was queer. He started blurting out all the songs that he’d heard from videos and Cds, which never happened before. He was 3 when he first started. Can’t tell if it is from attending the lessons or not, but he did become livelier.

Subsequently, there wasn’t any stark ‘improvements’ in his learning abilities, but the regular practice we have at home and in class have cultivated his desire to remember things (Prof. Shichida says memory is ‘use it or lose it’) and to feel alright with the feeling of having ‘tried and failed’. This is important because there are kids who would cry when they lose a game, and refuse to play again. Most Shichida kids (you can see during class time) do not have this tendency because they are encouraged to ‘try’, regardless of the results.

By the way, anyone knows when the next PEC is?

I strongly agree with Concern2, SM is less academic, more overall abilities training. Subconciously, kids acquire essential skills, like, memory, association, spatial, concentration, perception…, therefore, their understanding level, absorption power are pushed higher through learning.

The learning process needs parents involvement definately.

I am a mother of 2. Books by Professor Shichida has inspired me and Currently, I am teaching pre-schoolers at home. Hope more kids can be benefited.

Personally, I am impressed with Prof Shichida too by looking at his achievements. But, am not sure how the centre here bring out the \"essence\" of Shichida as I was skeptical by hearing how some parents withdraw from the centre after months of \"cards-flashing\" and \"tape-playing\".... :?

From what i heard, the withdrawals were mainly due to the admin/mgt way of doing things and not because of Shicida method.

Frankly, i am more concern with the acadamic results when these Shicida kids proceed to Pri and Sec school.

Does anyone heard of or know kids under shicida method scoring well in their exams/PSLE?

Seems that they would be very good in memorising things.
I am not v certain of the syllabus nowadays, does it require alot of memory work, or its more of a thinking process?

                        Hello,

My son just started the shichida lessons.

I have not received the product list, so I have not bought anything yet.

From what I heard from the staff, that new parents are entitled to 10% discount of the products bought.

May I know if I need to buy entire set to get the 10% discount? Or if I were to just buy one product, will there be still 10% discount?

Also, what does the entire set consists of? I am given very little information about the products to buy.

I don't even know how much does each product cost. Everytime the tensai store is very crowded.

                        Any input is greatly appreciated.

                        Thank you.
