I thought by asking for appeal letters, the principal is giving these students a second chance? We are only hearing one side of the story. He may sound harsh, but some times, educators 用心良苦，谆谆善诱 but the kids just "one ear in, one ear out" and do not take their studies seriously, so now Principal is giving them threats to "wake them up"? Furthermore, I do not think any educator in his right mind would ask the students to leave, knowing that they have no alternative route (as mentioned by alyssa12, cannot go Poly or JC because no "O" level cert) unless these students are also not doing well in the other subjects and not suited for the IP? jmho

I think he will most likely ask them to retain LOL. That's what happened to most cases which failed to meet his expectations.

actually they have O level cert. their IP cert issued by MOE is a replacement for O level cert. heard it is written on IP cert that the results are equivalent if not better than O level. i remember the principal mentioned it can be used to apply for poly or to other JC should the child decide to leave RV at end of Year 4.

Pepper spice, it is supposed to be the kid who write the appeal letter, not the parents la :rotflmao:

Someone ever told me that if the parents continue picking up the pieces after their kids mess up, the kids will be more bo-chap and continue to mess up. So, if the kid does badly, let him be the one to write the appeal letter for himself to the P to explain how he's gonna buck up and commit to it! Ok la, maybe parent should eye-ball the letter to ensure it has enough repent and persuasiveness.

D7 is NOT a pass

If one choose a SAP school, you must be prepared the chinese standard requirement is more stringent, standard is higher. And you are willing to put in effort to improve and not just choose to escape with a pass. Otherwise, what is the difference between SAP and non. It is also unfair for parents and students who choose SAP hoping to be better in Chinese. If there is no distinguish between SAP and non, slowly the concept of SAP would die off and it is quite sad if this happens.


Just like one choose NUSH because strong in Maths and Science. Same concept as SOTA.

There are still some 'bochap' students in RV. The P is just trying hard to 'wake' them up. What he is doing is ultimately for the good of these students.
