Agreed, if ordinary man committed adultery will give a bad impression. But I would rather see the \"performance\" as a whole party and what can they do for the people, then discount the whole party basing on this, if rumor is true.

But still think is a personal affair. If it is true, then should solve this with the affected people.
Yes, these are personal affairs but the people involved are holding significant post (and salary) as compared to any tom, dick and harry.
Thus in a way, they are role models and should not have such rumours tainted their reputations as afterall, we are Asians.

As long as they do a good job as a public figure, leave their personal lives alone. Eg Goh Keng Swee & Bill Clinton.

Same sentiments. I still remember our marriage vows. 😉 :snuggles:

Until now there is still no sound no picture from WP or Yaw. He is learning the PAP style - no sound no picture until people forgets. :skeptical:
Is that true? If my hubby had a affair, I will bring my son walk out from the family and file for divorce!

Yaw Shin Leong even made his mistress pregnant? I don't want such man to be an MP!

I don't actually care if the \"rumour\" is true or not, as long their own personal problems shouldn't affect the job of serving people :? Just my 2 cents.

Sorry, but it's also my stand that this is not acceptable. To me, this mentality is a little warped (no offence) as it says alot about YSL's character and integrity.

You would not think well of an ordinary man who has committed adultery, would you? What more an MP?

How do you expect him to keep the promises he made to his supporters during the election if he can betray a life-long promise to his wife.

If the rumor is indeed true, my impression of WP, sadly, would be discounted because of this black sheep of the party.
Hey, that's true...Bill Clinton's affair with the intern was no secret but strangely we separated his job and personal life. He did a great job as the president of America.

If the rumour is not true, why doesn’t he defend himself? By not commenting, it makes him look more guilty.

most likely the party want him to remain silent until further notice
i believe the WP is having a headache on this issue now

Also depends on whether a child is involved. If a child is involved, there can be no clear response until the ones involved decide on the fate of the child. It’s not an easy decision in the best of circumstances.

How come there’s no news in Straits Times?

Lots of voices calling for him to come out and clarify the rumors.
