DS1 went for squash trial yesterday and was selected to join the team. We were quite shocked, because he has never played squash before. But then, only 6 pupils were there for the trial.....hee

Thought the squash trial was held last thursday and today (and not yesterday?)

My DS also wanted to go for the trial today. Not sure if he eventually got the time to go as he had 3rd lang today. He missed last thurs also bec of 3rd lang.

The calendar for the trial dates clearly indicates that the squash trials are on 2 Thurs. How did your DS know there's one yesterday?

DS said the trial dates calendar not correct one. He mentioned that he sent an email to someone (dunno teacher or senior), and was asked whether he plays any racquet game. After that, he was asked to go for the trial.

When I see him tonight, I will ask him for more details. And then tell you.

Now my DS music teacher asked his class to remember the meaning of 满江红.

So now my DS has to remember
1) Sch song + meaning
2) 满江红 + meaning
3) EL conduct song
4) CL conduct song

Like that win already for O level HCL!

The 山歌，when I was in Hwa Chong JC, I remember we sang it very slowly one lei. Like the normal speed for this song. Now, they sing it so fast. I think the opponents (in competitions where they usually sing this son) will roll on the floor laughing ..... How to know what they singing ??

Just a gentle reminder that this evening, 27 Jan (5:30pm - 9:00pm) there is a Secondary One Parents' Symposium at HCI. It is held at High School Auditorium (English Session) and Drama Centre (Chinese Session)

Thanks for the reminder. Seems that it is going to be a long session ( 3.5 hours) and the school must be downloading a lot of info to the parents Better bring a notebook along .... :rotflmao:

Yep, 山歌 was the first cheer I asked DS about and when he sang it, I was stunned. It bore no resemblance to what I remembered it to be. Wondered if the kids actually know what they are muttering at that bullet speed
