English Assessment Books

I was at Popular the other day...saw this Eng title also by Fairfield...now half-hearted to get it for P3 :evil: It is on grammar and vocab. This is the one.
Pls let me know what the good titles I should get for P3 ok ? I am really at a loss. Thanks in advance.

Hi Janet,

As you know I am addicted to this and I have a giant collection of assesment books.
Now I am using Thematic vocab by Learners and sap learning vocab. But casco, creative vocab etc etc are just sitting in the shelves n smiling at me… Ace, casco essential grammar,just grammar are in use now. I didn buy any thick books cos they are making me sick. Thematic vocab by success for P2 was good. with pictures so I bought this yr but to my surprise P3 is a bit different. so its there untouched…I am using elite - 1 paper every saturday. when the school started Its moving like snail. slow progress… eng & math are moving faster than science. most of the sci assesments are in mint condition. Its like driving on the bumpy road.

I am at a loss buying right assessment books now...in the past, I never had this headache...thought that getting the CONQUER range is the solution but seems like it is not. P2 is different too...copied all the stuff taught for the first Stellar booklet and strike off when I have revised with her...but daughter came back with more stuff last week. Singular/plural nouns on Monday, past tense + irregular past tense on Tue etc etc. Like your daughter, Eng and Math moving fast.

For my son, I'm trying to start synthesis and comprehension cloze with him as a form of revision and supplementing school work but just 1 page of each as I don't want to stress him.

Yes, for eng the school is using different materials like preston, MC work sheets, stellar wsheets. so each have different topics for grammar and running parallel to each other so at the same time we need to cover many topics .

I'm using MC 'My Pals Are Here' Homework book to coach my daughter...prob is in each chapter, there are diff stuff thrown in like adverbs, antonyms & connectors and I don't usually get her to do stuff before her teacher teaches. :frustrated:
A lot of stuff going on parallel since school started.

I went to popular, saw that book not bad, but didn buy. because I have enough assesments for english.
fairfeild all in one is with explenation. so Its easy to teach. They have seperate book for comprehension as well.

I saw new books from eph as well. :frustrated:

Hey plum cake,

Suddenly I just don't know what to get for my gal in p2 bcos teacher is moving faster, I have to get her to do a little more everyday...with my older one in p6 and having tuition/suppl lessons, I have more quiet time this year. She is complaining, so now have to think of carrots to motivate her.

Found the singular/plural nouns in 'language' section of teachers' production just now...so got her to get that page done...tooth-teeth, ox-oxen, fairy-fairies...she needs frequent reminders.
