My DS is in P5 but I guess the agenda for PT session this time round is quite similar for all levels. This is different from the one-to-one session usually conducted in March. This is more like a briefing session to all parents on what is expected of the students at that level and there are also some slides showing the marking scheme for each paper, as well as the topics to be covered for each subject. For P3, I guess the teacher will talk a bit more on Science, which is a new subject for the students. Note that the textbooks for Science are meant to be for P3 and P4 so do not discard away after end of P3. In fact, I think we should keep all the Science books and notes all way to P6 since all the topics (including those in P3) will be tested in P6.

                Hi everyone,

How's your kids coping during these first few days of school ?
My son looked tired, probably after the long break not yet getting used to school life. Need time for the adjustment.

My son is in P3 this year. He brought back their time-table on the first day.
For every week, he will need to stay back after school for 3 days !
One day for HMT, one day for supplementary class n one day for CCA.
Wow...looks like they are going to have a hectic year.
Sometimes as a parent I feel heartache to see him look so tired in the evening when he reach home. Sigh ...
Yes, school life starts to get more hectic when the child reaches P3. If your child is in Robotics, its probably more than just 1 day a week of CCA...And if your child is selected for HAT, then it will be 4 days in a row of staying back in school...

My gal in P5 and her CCA is Robotics. Only once a week as we do not allow her to take part in competition…

yes agreed. My son in P3, everyday come home with lots of homework.

This year particularly Science, i find the standard very high for a new learner. Some of the questions they really have no idea how to answer. :?: In two weeks time they are going to have their CA !!! Really short time to teach him, especially with so much homework, do not have the excess time to do extra work with him. 😢
