Hi Mummies and daddies out there, Hope some of you live in Sembawang.

May I know what you think on Sembawang Prim.and Canberra Prim? I heard Sembawang Prim. has after-school student care but I think Canberra comes up with better PSLE result. For both schools we fall within 1km and will be under Phase 2B for both schools. ( I have submitted for PV for Canberra Prim.already). We are thinking between ‘having student care arrangement’ and ‘higher PSLE result’.

Could you advise which school we should decide for our son?

Sorry...but how did you qualify for phase 2B?

        (1) You are not a grassroot leader. This is evident from http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=701390#p701390 in the 2013 P1 Registration thread.

        (2) You have submitted PV application, but have you been accepted?
Are you also a PV for Sembawang?

I hope you don't think that by living within 1km, you qualify for phase 2B?

          hi bensmom,

you may have applied for PV for both schools. However only when the school has offically accepted you to join PV then you are a PV under phase 2B.

living less than 1 km - doesn't make you a PV.

Thank you dear KS parents on your kind advice between the two schools and also for clarifying my understanding on Phase 2B eligibility vs. PV vs. 1km, 2km range.

I am now clear that living within 1km will not put me in Phase 2B cat. automatically and am also sad to learn it’s now too late (despite 2 years away for actual school registration for my 2007 piglet) to do Grassroot leader work.
What can I say? I can only say OMG, is 2-year period not enough in getting ready for an entry to a school? ( BTW, since I’m new to this KS forums, may I know how I can trace my earlier posts to see if I have any replies there. I am too confused to remember the forums I visited. Sorry for this silly question. But thanks a lot for your patience and understanding.) Have a great day KS parents…

Just pray hard you get the PV. Grassroots work ain’t that fun either and u would need to burn your weeknights and weekends when you are actually needed at home.

Moving 1km near the school already helps a lot. Good luck!

                      Dear mummies and daddies

Need your advise on which school to choose. I can register dd at either NYPS or St Nicholas, both 2A phrase. Distance is not a concern as we are staying somewhere in between. Dd is really lucky as both are good schools but we are not too sure what are the criteria we should look out for.

Lucky you! Both are SAP schools so no concern. St Nicholas is a Catholic and all-girls’ school so personally I prefer that. If you have a boy and wish for the two of them to look after each other, then put in NYPS. But if you want to think further for your grandkids, then maybe NYPS will be a better idea.
