Reading this with interest. So since HCL paper doesn’t have a direct impact on the AL score and only helps when the kid aims for SAP schools, then do you guys now get your kids (who are doing Higher Chinese in sch) to do Normal Chinese tuition or still go for Higher Chinese tuition?


Understand the focus is a bit different for Higher Chinese tuition lessons.

Fren's 12yo going on 13 is experiencing puppy love despite not doing well at the PSLE... fren is very very worried. She has to resort to checking her dd's texts to the boy in the middle of the night. Told me she doesn't know how to react to the situation. Object = dd may keep secrets next time... Don't object = means accept?

I only know of Rainbow Hotel right smack in Ximending. Walked past it but never stayed in it. Heard that coaches can’t stop there so you will need to drag your luggage to the hotel lobby by yourself. Since you are getting a driver, you can check with them.

Just want to thank everyone here for the advice a few months back. My friend’s kid managed to clear EXPRESS and can keep her DSA seat. She’s sad with the low score but now she must help her kid manage the expectations of the DSA school… It’s a continuous struggle. Jia you.

AL banding is different from the Band 1 Band 2 u see on the report book.


For the new PSLE AL banding, 90 and above is AL 1, 85 - 89 is AL 2…20-44 is AL 7.

Usually orientation grp & T shirt will be collected via class teacher on First or 2nd day sch

Above average is band 1 fr 85-93ish in my kid’s case… What if all 4 subjects are around the same? No exceptionally good subject…

No domain to choose… Or just go for the vague ones like Social Innovation?
