Oh on a separate note, Summer is Full. And personally, i feel that they are coping rather poorly with the overwhelming response that they are receiving at the moment. I have received rather curt replies from the Directress. Or maybe my qns were too ‘‘idiotic’’? Lol

Hi Pinkkity, I m pretty sure Tykes would allow u to come for a week trial. They are having a Trial period in Feb. $30/session. Try it out! 🙂

Hi mummies, sorry for the late reply. Pretty tied up @ work!

Answers to all those who are asking some qns on Tykes Playhouse:

          1) Tykes is currently only having 3 students at the moment hence all of them including my boy are attending 3x a wk (tue, wed, fri). Was told by the principal that since currently it’s a small grp, 3x a wk os sufficient as the teachers have more time with the students as in 1:1 approach. But, if the class gets bigger abt 5-6 kids,it’s best to go for 5x so that everyone will have the same amount of approach with the teachers.

          2) Regarding curriculum, below is the list of it:
          - Phonics, Language, Mathematics => Montessori method
          - Thematic => Science, Zoology, Experiments, Arts & Craft etc
Every term there will be one theme for example now they are learning on All About Myself (Body Parts).
          - Speech & Drama every Friday for half hour
Where the kids are exposed to confidence in performing, learn on expressions, speech etc.
          - Excursions => This will be available only when the class grows bigger

Just an add-on, the Montessori Directress is a montessori trained teacher from MMI (Modern Montessori Intl).

No harm in trying the trial class for your kiddos! As the students now are attending 3x a wk,you can place your child there too for trial for the 3 days in a wk!

Hope the above answer to all the queries.(",)

Tykes sounds good and looks very interesting from FB. But it seems inconvenient for me to travel there, as from the streetdirectory, there seems only one bus which is 154…

Summer is so full already? I think the directress must be very busy now cos she used to give prompt replies to me last time when I had queries. Im still waiting for gd news from her whether i can swop timeslot as i really prefer the morning slot.

To all mummies who are asking me some qns, below are the replies (",)

Pinkitty: C ya around! Hehe…no harm trying out the trial class & see how it goes…
ChArlie Brown: The school is arranging transport for those kids who require one…i’m residing in Bkt Panjang & has a transport catered for my son.
3hrs i find it’s not too long as his previous sch too is a 3-hr program (montessori sch). My son has been in this kind of sch since he was 20mths & now he’s turning 3yrs in May… (",)

                      :thankyou: Basha for sharing.

charlie brown, yes, the Summer Principal has been so far very prompt in replying me too. But it does seem like they are very full as I see new kids every week.

Hi Basha, how much are they charging you for transport? I m staying in J.East. Tykes quoted me their price for 5x/week class but not 3x. So it ll be great if u can help clarify my qns above. You have been very helpful!
