Found this in Google
spore (spôr)
1. A usually one-celled reproductive body that can grow into a new organism without uniting with another cell. Spores are haploid (having only a single set of chromosomes). Fungi, algae, seedless plants, and certain protozoans reproduce asexually by spores. Plant spores that are dispersed by the wind have walls containing sporopollenin.
I guess the answer has to be A & C, number 3 -

However, option C : 'They are only found in non-flowering plants'.
Hence, how can C be true? -

Hi tianzhu,

Hi Tianzhu
While me and my girl was going thr question from http://www.wendykoh.com/08primary4-chijca2-science.pdf
question 3,which part of the egg provide food for the developing chick?
Answer is 3
But my girl answer is 1.
Wonder is there any mistake?thanks
Your girl is correct.
The yolk provides the developing embryo with nutrients.
Need clarifications if the above is indeed yolk or white as PSLE Ultimate Science Guide (EPH) Page 156, 157 states that the egg white is a food store for the developing chick made up of protein, water, vitamins and minerals. It is gradually used up throughout incubation. While yolk is also a food store, but unlike the albumen (egg white), it is not consumed during incubation.......used as a food reserved for the first few days of a chick's life outside the egg. The yolk is absorbed into the abdomen of the chick just before hatching.
Thanks. -
Hi teh_oh
The link to the original question is broken, and I cannot remember how the original question is worded.
Perhaps, you may want to read the second paragraph from this link.

Thanks for your replies and the link.
So, embryo do get their nutrients/food source from the egg yolk.
If so, then it is very misleading for PSLE Ultimate Science to state as what I quoted in the earlier post.
My child has clarified with his teacher today and was told that while she understands that some guidebooks state egg white as the food source, it should actually be egg yolk as the main function of egg white is to cushion shock.
Thank you again for your clarifications.
Regards.
