      Dear Parents,

Do you know usually when will the school start recruiting parent volunteers? My daughter was born in 2008 and she is due for P1 registration in June 2014. Do I need to obtain a PV form from the school general office?

Also, how is the PV selection process like? Any criteria that I need to look out for? Any parents would like to share your success stories?

      Thanks a lot.
Hi! most pv applications are open now for children born 2007.
Your kid prob a year later? But depends on which school u looking at.
For children born in 2007, Holy innocents pv opening in jan 2012.. Need to call to get interview or something. That's the reply I got from them.

Just FYI . I no success story to share yet... Hope to have though! :xedfingers: :xedfingers:

I think for those born in 2008 can register to be PV in 2012... which is this year.

Hi! My daughter will be registering for P1 (phase 2C) this year. I've narrowed the choices to 4 pri schs. Appreciate comments/advice on which u think we shld go for:

            Within 1km:
(#1) CHIJ Our Lady of the Nativity
            (#2) Punggol Primary

            1-2km:
            (#3) Holy Innocents'
            (#4) Xinmin Primary

#1 - sure get in. But I've a younger son (4 yrs difference) so he'll hv to apply another pri sch.
            #2 - is #1 or #2 better academically?
I think #3 & #4 are the 'better' schools, but I stay 1-2km. Shld I even try going for them, and if so, is #3 or #4 better?

Appreciate any comments to help in our decision. Thanks! 🙂

              Hi all,

I have a question. If I’m only moving to my new place in upper serangoon only in feb 2015, am I able to register my son in holy innocents primary for p1 in 2014? How does it work? Do I need to change my ic address in 2013? I’m not sure if I can do that as the completion date is only in feb 2015.

Just to check also that for Holy innocents, Catholics register at phase 2b?

              Thanks

                Extracted from MOE's website:

I have purchased a yet-to-be completed property and should be moving in after the property is completed. Can I make use of the new home address for the purpose of registration?

Yes. The new home address can be used provided that you are able to produce evidence from the relevant authority that you have committed to the purchase of this property. In the case of private property, you must produce the original copy of the Sales and Purchase Agreement. The date of commitment by the developer in the Temporary Occupation Permit (T.O.P) must not be later than 31 Dec 2013. In the case of HDB flat, the Agreement for Lease is required. Parents must move into the new property within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One otherwise the child will be transferred out of the school.

If you register in 2014, so long as you move in to the new place by Dec 2016, you are allowed to use the address for P1 registration.

By the way for Holy Innocents Primary, do Catholics get to register at Phase 2B?

                      Hi Parents,

I will be moving to Upper Serangoon in 2014 and our new place is within walking distance from both HIPS and and Monfort Junior. I’m thinking of registering my son at HIPS, but am concerned about the Higher Chinese and that the school son gis in Chinese - Any parents out there can advice if the school has a very chinese background? I’m Chinese but my husband is not, hence my son is of mixed parentage - I’m concerned about him being a "minority" in the school and not being able to cope with the standard of mandarin there.

                      Any feedback on Monfort Junior?

                      Appreciate any tips! Thanks.

                        CHIJ Our Lady of Nativity

there was no balloting for Phase 1 to Phase 2B for past 2 years
                        (2010 & 2011).

Balloting was conducted for Phase 2C for those staying between 1-2 km for past 2 years.
Therefore, those staying outside 2-km had no chance to ballot.
