The GePers are grouped together, not sure which classes this year. Other than that, Nanyang doesn't group the top scorers together, they are spread across the classes randomly.

This year, 1 GEP class - entirely GEPers, about 25 or 26 students. Actually I was quite surprised that so few GEPers chose NYGH.

Last yr, got 3 Gifted classes ie. GEPers + PSLE high scorers + those who were selected for Gifted programme but didn’t join GEP schools. Definitely last yr’s GEPers were more than 25.

Somehow this year the school decided not to mix GEPers with other mainstream students.

Nanyang has always kept GEPers in separate classes, this has been a practice for many many years.

Does anyone know what the ‘interim’ score in the progress report is computed? Is that the equivalent of GPA?

Only the GEP classes do Philisophy in Sec. 1.

Hi parents, may I know are there anything interesting to share about the event this morning "breakfast with the principal" ? I didn’t make it as I was over at HCI attending the Founder’s Day event. Thanks in advance.

Mdm Heng gave a very good talk to the parents. Main message is to tell parents if they have any issues, to approach the school and work things out.

And to excercise calm when calling the school as there have been parents who have been \"aggressive\" when calling the school and talking to admin staff.

And I agree with her, some parents think they are always right and demand this and that from the school, something as triivial as getting the CCA of choice for their daughters!

And that we need to let the girls learn how to manage these things on their own instead of the parents getting involve on their behalf.

Mdm Heng is a very good principal and she has a very good understanding of the girls and what is needed for them to do well.

And my personal opinion is, as parents, we need to give her and the school all the support, they are the experts in education, not us parents, so we should not interfere in how the school is run.

There is another session tomorrow morning, you should attend if you can. It will be at the boarding school.
