They have already prepacked everything in the big bundle …eg. books, color pencils, drawing bag, sch socks (4 pairs), small whiteboard, color files…etc…cost about $100 plus. For maths , they are using my pals, no textbook for English as the school is doing Stellar.

6.40am is not so bad…your dd will eventually get use to the daily routine, my dd’s sch bus pick-up is 6.30am … we are at Bukit Batok. Some of the neighborhood school buses also come around this timing.

                Hi Doreamo,

Very glad to c this post and your post. My girl is in P2 next year. I am planning to send my girl to YMCA after school care next year. Would like to find out if it's good? Do we still need to cater them to attend enrichment class or additional tuition ? Does the teacher help them to prepare CAs and SAs? Hope to hear from you soon.

Tell her she is going to meet her new friends on Friday 😄 Don't worry, I believe children can make friend easily. I'm more concern whether my DD is able to be independent to decide what she wants to eat and finish her food before times up 🙏

Not to worry, they will adjust very fast with so many interesting activities waiting for them.... 😃

My daughter also has non of her friends from K2 at smps with her. On the 1st day of P1 my daughter told me no need to follow her and don't come to school hor when she knows that i planned to follow behind her school bus. and not very happy when she saw me at the canteen. (when i just want to see how things and abit worried about her). She's enjoying.....and can't wait to go back together with her buddy sis....

                        Hi Sharmum

My girl is also in P2 next year…
The teachers in YMCA are very caring ,motherly type and the children love them. What I like about putting her in YMCA is that she finished all her school homework before going home so no need for me to worry about it , basically just need to go through her YMCA Communication book and school handbook.
In YMCA, after nap, they will first do their school homework and follow by assessments books (we have to buy EL, Maths and Chinese assessment books for her to do at the centre) which will be marked by the studentcare teachers. The teacher will also give them spelling based on the school’s spelling lists. Sometime, they will go to mt emily park esp after CAs or SAs just to play and relax.

For preparing for CAs and SAs, the teachers will give them mock papers to do…
YMCA engaged an external provider to give English and Math tuitions once a week , not expensive as they are using the classrooms.
For coming school holiday.… YMCA has planned several activities for them.movies, science and magic workshops, Singapore discovery tour.
