Oh ya, Friday nights are orchestra practise nights. She’ll reach home about 10+ or 11pm if my parents bring her out for supper.

Hi daisyt, sorry for the misleading. I should use "grade" or "score" for individual subject, instead of "MSG". MSG refers to the the average grade of all subjects for a pupil. So every pupil has grade for each of her subjects and an average grade (MSG) for all the subjects she has been examed. The individual grade of a subject affect your decision whether you want to choose the same subject for advanced study. Anyway, most of the pupils like to choose the subjects that they can get good marks easily.

mrswongtuition, looks like your sister's schedule is very tight too. Does she has lots of project/team works ?
She has alot of project work. There's a good balance of individual & group project. Usually group project they'll try to discuss in school & split the work up to complete individually at home, then meet up again to combine & collate. Quite effective method to suit their schedules. Sometimes the project needs them to come together, they'll come to my house on Sunday. I monitor them so that they will get down to work instead of play & chit chat.

She enjoys her schedule cos she still has time to laze around & watch TV/surf net. Her friends don't even get such 'luxuries'. She saves alot of travelling time for tuition cos my dad sends her there & picks her up. He's semi-retired, so has alot of time on his hands. Sometimes I help to pick her up from tuition too.

& you must add something which I forgot. She takes time out to play with my son too. They'll play hide & seek at home or she'll bring him to the park to play at the playground. Sometimes she helps me fetch him home from school too (his school is opposit her school).

It's all about being positive & managing time well. My sis used to suck at managing her time in Primary school. We had to nag & help her plan her time before she finally understood.

O levels and IP cannot be compared. It is like comparing an apple with an orange and they are not the same. Generally it is accepted that IP is ranked higher than O levels as IP students are already enroute to top JCs, but O levels students still need to use/fulfill many criteria to get into a top JC; L1R5 = 6 or 7, must get distinction for HMT, have distinction for CCA and have excellent CCA or other talent achievements.

Only when the O levels student can reach A levels then their relative performance can be compared and chances are IP students will likely do A levels.

                      One more question. 😄
Unless one wants to be in the medical line, it is better to take Physics and Chemistry because these two subjects would offer one a wider selection in Uni courses. True ?
