Original Title: Kumon Hougang Central/ Hougang Serangoon

      Hi,

Wonder if any parents here have kids in these centres and could advise which is better. Recently, a friend was telling me that her son used to attend the branch at jurong and it took him 4-5 months just to move 1 level. However when she shfited to bukit batok, her son has since moved a few levels in a year. So I've a feeling that each kumon branch differs.

My son is currently at Roxy Square branch and read in one of the postings that it is one of the better kumon branch in Spore. He is there as it is near my mum's house and as he is in K2, she helps me to bring him for his lessons.

But in 2009, he will be in P1 and no longer staying over at my mum's place, for logistics purpose, I need to move to a branch closer us where maid/pils can help to bring him for lessons. I am having serious thots as his teachers at roxy knows his learning pattern and they've sort of establish a rapport esp recently where he was alot more motivated. Though roxy is not \"too far\" but given the schedule of other classes on weekends which is sort of back to back and centre schedule to take note of, I prefer something that is practical.

Greatly appreciate if someone could feedback. Thanks.

Just let him continue at Roxy if he likes the teacher

Can go once a week. Collect more homework for the whole week.
You can drop him off at Kumon center when you visit mum over the weekends

by the way, your boy is taking Maths or English?

My boy is taking maths only. I am still contemplating as it’s a challenge due to the timing of the kumon opening hours and potentially it will clash with his english classes which I am thinking of switching to British council next year. Hoping to hear from other parents who actually put their kids in a british council programme.

Hi rotimama, it will be good to provide the area for which the kumon centres should be located so that it is easier for other parents to comment. 😄

I just enrol my girl at the Bishan St 11 branch; not sure if it’s good but I am so surprise to hear that they can stay at 1 level for so long.

any comments for the bishan st 11 branch; I did heard that some branches are very particular about timing and whereas some are not.

I already paid for 0.5 a month staring this week … wish me luck. Don’t think my daugther will enjoy doing the same time over and over again.

I’ve read the testimonials and realised that some students started at a pretty young age (in their pre-school years).
Trial starts from 18 July…hope i can make it for registering of any centre can accept my child…anyone knows of any centre that accept young children?
