So isst ok for the maid to put her clothes together with ours and wash together?

      How abt her undies?
For me, i always wear panty liner so mine is quite clean in a way...
if i buy panty liner for her, abit exp....
I would think it's a personal decision lah, as in up to you.

My helper accumulates quite a number of T shirts and shorts every few days cuz she has 2 to 3 changes a day. So usually she will wash her clothes separately.

      My 2 cents 😄

Hi, want to get some advice here.

If my maid has completed her contract and want to stay on in Spore to work but I don’t need her service anymore, what shld I do? Return her to agent or help her find a new employer? And who pays for her passport renewal and work permit then?

Everytime I go into the yard, i see a different undie hung on the pole. So I think she does it by hand daily.

Also we wash our clothes separately on different days.

I can’t say she has not mixed her undies with her clothes in the machine but I would say it is likely to be one out of ten times.

My current also prefers to hand wash all her clothes but we don’t.

the maid or her new employer should pay for the passport renewal and wp

your obligation is to send her back to her home country and nothing more

May I ask how many of you here allow your maid to use the washing machine for her own clothes?

My machine is only for bed sheets, pillow cases, blankets or any big items. Occasionally we will throw in some big towels just to fill up.

I told her thank you for taking care of my father he is so well now! She told me among the bosses she encountered since coming her I am the best...ke..ke..ke...

One chapter closed....good bye and all the best!

                  Hi DesertWind!

How long was she with your mum??

You must have felt happy when she mentioned the above statement!!

I broke down at the airport when my ex maid left in March. I did not
expect to. I too wished her all the best and thanked her for taking care of us and especially my kids. She was going home to get married after 4 years with us. She grew up with us. She literally transformed herself just by watching us - the way we do things like eating habits (for example, the
proper way to eat spaghetti), hygiene etc ... When I was expecting DS2, she observed how I avoided caffeine and MSG and asked me why. She said she hoped to be able to do the same when she is pregnant too!! She had initiative and was observant. There was once, out of exhaustion in the
initial months after delivering, when the baby was crying, she fed him milk and showered him on her own accord while I slept. When I woke up, I was
shocked at why she didn't wake me up. She mentioned that she had observed me doing all those things and was confident that she could do it and knew that I needed to rest.

My neighbor once commented that my helper did not look like one, neither
                  did she behave like one.

Anyway, I broke down because at the airport, she thanked me and DH. She
thanked us profusely because she said she has never felt as comfortable as she felt in our home. And the things we advised her about like how to take
care of her health (avoidance of excessive amount of certain food if
possible), saving up her hard earned money (we advised her to save every cent and dollar and in fact supplied her with everything from toiletries, to
clothes, to phone cards to hp). She thanked us because she said after 4 years of saving, she was able to buy herself a matrimonial home plus a
motorbike. She said she appreciated all the advice Sir used to give her in
the car about investing her money wisely. She said that while working for her ex employer, she did not know what to do with the money earned and her future. Now she has an idea. She said that she cannot forsee herself staying at home and doing nothing after working for us for these no of years. She will have to do something productive at home now.

I broke down because I never realized what we had said and done for her
out of GOODWILL had made such an impact in her life.

                  I miss her.

                  Hi autumnbronze,

My this maid worked for us for about one-and-half years only then go back already!

Wow, your maid worked for you for 4 years, kudos to you! :salute:
I always believe that although it takes 2 hands to clap but usually maid will work with same employer for many years because the employer treats them well. I believe you are quite a generous person since you supplied all that your maid needs to her which is not what all employers will do!

Yes, it is heart-warming to hear our maids thank us for treating them well and I am glad that despite those times when we need to \"tell them off\", they also understand that we do have their welfare at heart!
                  :celebrate:

I have always allowed them the choice of using the washing machine or hand-washing. No need to waste time handwashing unless they need to!

Agree. I see hand-washing clothes a \"luxury\" nowadays. There are so many things to do in the house why hand wash? If it is T-shirts and shorts, I don't see why maid cannot use the machine to wash. She will hand-wash my work dresses who are more delicate that cannot be machine-washed. So depending on how one sees the usage of the washing machine. To me, allowing the maid to use washing machine for her own clothes is no big deal.
