Anyone with children in Spring Montessori in Bukit Timah Shopping Centre? I spotted this new preschool by chance and sent my dd there this Jan. After eight months I must say that it is a good school. Although their main focus is not on academic work. i noticed dd improved a lot. Three months ago I let her take a diagnotic test at another Maths enrichment programme and was told that dd had no foundation so must start from level zero. I decided not to take the programme but now at the age of 2++ she can write all the digits 0 to 9 unassisted and combines the digits to write numbers like 58 on her own. She is now doing k2 addition and subtraction and enjoys formulating the questions on her own to test me. Her English and Chinese also improved a lot. Just sharing this because I am very grateful to the school. Too bad they don't have childcare facilitites and I have to enrol dd to a childcare when I return to work next year. Very sad. Any advice on a equally good childcare centre around Bukit Timah?

      Hi baby sz,

My gal in K1 this year goes to Faith Montessori along Dunearn Road. I must say that she has improved a lot since this year compared to when she went to traditional church kindergartens. I think the centre opens from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. you can call them at 64649165 to check.

      Hope this helps.............

Thanks, kaitlynangelica. I've just called them. The teacher who answered my call is really very nice. But....alas, I then read from your post that they are opened at 7.30am in the morning. As I will be returning to teaching in a school, this time is too late for us because I'll need to be in school before 7.20am. Do you have other places to recommend? Thanks in advance. A friend said that my best bet is to get a babysitter, do you think that is a good idea? I am a little worried about sending the children to someone I don't know......
Hi,

Actually am not sure of the timing. Did you ask them if they could open at 7am?

They said the same: 7.30am. Guess I'll need to look for alternative arrangements. Thanks for your help. šŸ˜„

                  Juz saw the posts

Wish to add that the morning session is full but they still have vacancies in the afternoon session at the moment. Do give them a call. You can also consider taking over my dd's vacancy (morning class) next term as we are leaving the school because of my work.

From what I know, they are actively looking for a bigger place for the children. Ideally a small bunglow. If anyone is kind enough to give them some leads on this, please give them a call.

The school in Bukit Timah is new but the teachers are not: The other parents told me that the owner of the original school in Mt Sinai had to close down the kindy when the rental market shot too highly. Their fees are one of the lowest for Montessori ( I mean the purer ones) considering the cost to maintain that kind of quality in teaching. But the teachers wanted very much to stay to continue with their passion in teaching so they opened this school. I met the ex-owner once when she visited the teachers in Spring Montessori and she confirmed what the other parents said.

Btw, I am looking at this childcare centre: Learning Ladders. Appreciate if anyone can share your experience with this school.

I am also considering Learning Ladder, but undecided between the one in Highgate and Woodlands Rd (Bt Panjang).

Will really appreciate any feedback etc on Learning Ladder.

                    Thanks!

I need feedback on the following cc. Would greatly appreciate your contribution. Thks.

                        1) Seedlings Patch
                        2) Amazing Star Montessori
                        3) Adelfibel --> currently full, but they took in my boy's name for 2010 (so far...)

I m also in the midst of deciding if I shld put my child at a PG then engage a helper. Bt of cos in terms of costs, def putting in a CC is cheaper.

                        Haiz.... *headache* 😢
