Yes, wear primary school uniform first. There are alot of such cases. They only buy uniform when their appeals are officially replied (successful or not).

Most of the time, the appeal process can be up to 1-2 weeks. Sometimes, it can be after 1 or 2 terms (students migrate, drop out, transfer to private school, etc).

In my own form class this year, I had 7 cases of transfer out. Then another 7 transferred in. This was during first 2 weeks of school. All transferred out/in at different timing.

After that (during June), 2 left (1 transfer, 1 migrate) and another 2 came in.

Thank you. Transfer in June is too long. If such case, parents would have bought uniforms & books. Maybe some books are same.

If can transfer to their 'dream school', they wouldn't mind paying another $100-200 for new uniform & new books, right? I know if I'm the parent, I wouldn't mind πŸ™‚

Most of them have similar books anyway.

I think it is better to buy the uniform, or the kid will look weird and feel out of place.

Definitely will be above $100 πŸ™‚

I knew of a student, bought all the books and uniforms on 30th Dec, since she thought, till then, no news from the appeal school would means no news. In the afternoon, she received call from the appeal school, saying her appeal was successful and to report on 31st. She spent about $400 on the uniforms and books of the posted school. 😞

I believe they do admit non affliated students except the COP will be much higher as compared to 'internal' posting.

According to MOE statistics for PLMGS, yeah, it does not accept students from non-affiliated schools into it's express streams. This is the same with some other schools like CHIJ Toa Payoh. Students applying for the secondary school from their own primary schools fill up all available vacancies. Only a small handful from non-affiliated schools get in, but generally due to appeal or DSA and these are not included in the stats bc it's not done thru' the sec 1 posting exercise, I guess.

This is unlike schools like CHIJ SNGS where they do take in non-affiliated students, but only if their points are above 250 since it's a SAP school.

Actually, they do take in non-affiliated through posting IF they have vacancies & are posted any students. Most students will opt for other schools, those who stay around this are usually would have already registered their girls in PL Pri πŸ™‚

PL has alot of students from other primary schools who enrolled via DSA. They can enrol students via DSA through music, dance & sports.
