[Clementi] Primary Schools
-
Hi aggelim,
Thnak you for the detailed information. By the way, my daughter is in K1 now. She will be going to primary 1 in 2010. Yes. I will try my best to prepare her for the primary 1. At this moment, for her age, she is doing well, espeacially in maths. She can do addition upto 100 and subtraction upto 50. But, as u know very well, parents are never satisfied.
since I am working full time, I always have this guilty feeling of not spending enough time with her. I really tell you - when I came to know that the application for parents’ voluntary service is closed for 2003 kids in henry park, I was so upset and kept thinking that I failed to do my duty. And I closed one good oppurtunity for my daughter. Lots of frustrations!
That’s why, now I want to find out more details and prepare her well for the good academic start. Thanks for all the info provided. Really useful. -

Hi all,
I have just been to Qifa's website. The school looks like one that does not just stress on academic achievements but also all round development of the children. However, I heard from my neighbours that the exam papers are too easy hence does not prepare the students well for PSLE.
Does anyone have any first hand experience about the school? Is it true that it does not prepare students well for the PSLE? Is it so relaxed that children lose competiveness?
Regards,

I also heard the same way about Qifa. I honestly don’t like that school because fo the feedbacks I got from two different parents.
-
What did you hear? Do they have kids studying at the school?

HI Onlyling,
Sorry for the late reply. Went overseas for official purpose.
I happened to talk to two different parents. What they told me is that they (their kids) dont really bring much worksheets/homework. And they are doing their chinese also in the same way. They are getting more worksheets/syllabus towards the exam period where they don't really get more time to practice. But they also mentioned that they are good in maths.
Anyway, the above critiques could be specifically from those two kids/parents I happened to meet in the park.
So need not worry too much.
Best regards

Dear parents,
I may be shifting to West Coast area which is not too far from Clementi Pri Sch but i am not sure if it is within 1km. I still hv time to register as PV.
Any idea if the 1km rule still apply if I register as PV to qualify for phase 2B? Any idea if there are balloting for phase 2B in Clementi Pr sch so far? Will it count if I have already bought my house but TOP is in yr 2011?
Would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks! -
Clementi Primary stats:
Year 2006 : Phase 2B vacancies = 92, Applicants = 5
Year 2007 : Phase 2B vacancies = 62, Applicants =2
Year 2008 : Phase 2B vacancies = 63, Applicants = 2
No balloting at all. Looks like you be 100% assured of a place if u register under phase 2B, regardless of the distance. -
