looking at my situation, all the school within 1 km is balloting, after tmr all those who do not get into a school will have be applying for 1 on14th Aug and based on my calculation, the no of seats available is less then the number of applicants. so 2C Sup is also 50-50 chance.. in case i dont get into a school under phace 2C Sup.. what do i do?
a detail example:-
rulang (50 excess) , Shuqun (27 excess), Lakeside ( 16 excess) after tomorrow we will have 93 failed applicants looking for school.. within 1 km is only Boon Lay Garden which have a place for 75 applicants.. this means there will be 21 applicants who will be rejected on the 14th aug.
what will happen next? -
SAHM_TAN:
Have to expand your search further. At the end of P2C, if I remembered correctly, there will be a list of schools with vacancies for P2C supp on MOE website.
but i think for phrase 2c supp also those within 1km have more chances am i right? -
PhoBIA:

MOE will help these 21 applicants allocate a school that still has vacancies nearest to their home. Meanwhile, just hope you get ballot in. Good luck.

MOE will help those fail in balloting? -

MOE will help those fail in balloting?
Touch wood, should your child be unsuccessful in P2CS, MOE will ask you to nominate 3-5 schools still with vacancies that you would like MOE to post your child to. Should you choose not to do so, MOE will assign your child to a school that still has vacancies and is nearest to your house. Nearest here doesn't necessarily mean within 1 km though. -
pqy:
How the balloting carry on? Computerized or manually. How to ensure our child name was in the lists for balloting. Thanks
Hi pqy, with effect from this year, the balloting process has been standardised across all schools in Singapore by MOE. The balloting apparatus is also provided by MOE, ie the lottery cage.
There will be a board with all the names of the children eligible for balloting listed. A number is assigned to each child. When you reach the room designated for balloting, the school's staff will tell you to look for your child's name and note down the number given.
On the table in the room, you will see trays of ping pong balls, arranged in numerical sequence. When balloting starts, the staff will pick up ball number 1 (number printed on the ball) and read the corresponding child's name from a list. Then the staff will drop it into the cage. The staff will proceed with ball number 2 etc until all the balls are dropped into the cage. Then the staff will do a 'thorough' shuffle. This will be the only shuffle. After that, the staff will start the balloting by rotating the cage. When the first ball appears, the staff will read the number. No name will be mentioned. Meanwhile, another staff will place a thumb tack against the name on the board mentioned in the 2nd para. When it is down to the last 5 vacancies, the school will announce only 5 more balls to be drawn. After the last ball is drawn, the staff will request parents to refer to the board for confirmation. Parents whose children are balloted in will have to stay back to get a copy of the registration form which we filled in on registration day. The form will be signed and stamped with 'Registered'. For the school I registered with under Phase 2B, the orientation date was stated too.
