Can anyone advise? My son scored 218. Should I pick as first choice East Spring Sec Sch or Coral Sec Sch? Which one is better?

Thought I give it try, so I dropped by Coral Sec today (Sat). It was closed but - surprise, surprise - the guard at the gate has a son in East Spring. Found out some info from him regarding both schools. What an unusual source of info! :lol:Oh Dear:

I think east spring is a better choice.
East Spring -Band4 (L1B5=13)
. AA - ☆☆
Coral - Not banded
● AA (Academic Value-added) (Special/Express) - Bronze
Popped by East Spring after that, but it was closed too. I'll definitely visit East Spring next week before Dec 2. I will also bring my son to see Ngee Ann Sec, which was his choice before the PSLE result. Hope he will take his studies more seriously from now.

My guess for the COP of this year’s posting is that most of the COP will go up (especially the top schools).
I will probably place my choices as follows :
If my preferred school that is "realistically attainable" has a COP that is less than my child’s aggregate by more than 3 points, I will try my luck for a better school by putting the better school as my 1st choice. (Though I think the chance is not high) The "realistic" school shall be my 2nd choice.
If my "realistic" school’s COP is 1 to 3 points below my child’s aggregate, I will not take a chance and will put it as my 1st choice definitely. -

Anyone knows where we can get the COP for the past 3 years ?
Perhaps comparing the statistics for the past 3 years is a better & reliable guide

still no one knows whether, all being equal, putting a choice as 2nd or 5th choice, will it affect the chances of getting in ?I guess , lots of parents of 'Mid-Rangers' are looking for answer to a very important question above.
Do you place a school within reach as 'First' choice in order to secure place so that last place available is allocated to you over the many other student who placed that school as seocnd choice but score is same as your child
If yes... There are chances that other students whose score is lower than your childs score , but are 'Bold' in placing bet on other school ( which is bit further in terms of cut-off) would get a placement & your child will be wondering how come she lost out simply because she placed school within reach as 'First Choice'
there are many knowledgeable 'Moderators' in this site ... Can Please ... please invite experts to give opinion on this.
3 Days left to put up choices
