Shichida Right Brain Training - Discussion

Okay, finally sign my boy up for Shichida after much consideration. Does that make me super kiasu? :oops: is my boy going to have photographic memory or six sense when he grow up? That will be nice. Exam will be a breeze with photographic memory....then he will have more time to spent on being a naughty boy... Or does knowing how many dots there are on a piece of paper at a glance helps in his future...hmmm wonder if I make the right choice.


what are progress is like for the parents who have sent their kids?

My kid who is nearing 4 years old has been in the Shichida program for like 2 years. It is hard to see any results in the first year, but subsequently you will see improvement in the kids in the class.


There are linking memory and flash memory that they can get very good at. Some exercise like telepathy seems to work. But my kid doesn’t always do well when he is not in the mood.

Need to persist in flashing cards and playing simple ESP everyday to see effects though. Sometime it is hard to persist.

Yes… we keep forgetting that most of these enrichment courses require us parents to do most of the work back at home. People think that it is just money that we spend sending the kids to expensive courses. It is not just sending the kids to the course and sitting with them, but also spend hours everyday at home to make sure they follow up. That’s why being a kiasu parent is really no joke!

Hi all,

I am keen to send my kids to learn at Shichida. Although at their preschool, they are doing spelling, simple dictation, maths, reading, I would like my kids to improve the use of their \"right brain\", just for enrichment

Does anyone have any comments about the results, effectiveness and what exactly are they going to learn about? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

my girl is almost 6 years old, I don’t know which centre will offer right mind development course for this age.

okay, one year after. Seems to have a bit of results.


Like phantom says,need to be diligient about flash cards and playing simple ESP games everyday. My kid don’t like the linking memory game but enjoys the rest of the class. Happens to have a nice teacher for his class who is able to click with the students…

I am quite tempted to look at other classes like Mindchamp but quite lazy to go for previews…thought mindchamps is more for older kids?

hmm how old is your kid? Mine is 2 years old when he started so far other than the ESP and telepathy, photomemory llinking memory and flash cards, we have exposure to stories and songs in different languages e.g. French, German, Italian Jap and Korean. There are games for counting, blocks building, tangram puzzles, stringing. Work sheets and games that cover concepts like comparison, teaching words, counting and alphabets. There is also speed reading.

The lessons give good ideas to play with my kids when we go home. I don't think my boy is going to develop ESP ability anytime soon but seems to develop good memory and grasp concepts pretty well.

Having had a less than happy experience with Shichida Method myself, all I can say is Be Careful!


Everything sounds good and scientific, but before you waste your money, ask yourself is what Shichida claims backed up by anything but a sales=pitch and a lot of mumbo-jumbo.

I found this blog on the 'pseudo-science' that some people use to sell their ideas, and Shichida doesn't come out too well on it. It sort of sums up why my experience was so bad with the whole 'right-brain' learning joke.

Remember, there is no law that says they have to have evidence to back up their claims. Like actually doing any real science! I think it's more a case of repeating the lie often enough and it becomes the truth.
