Yeah! Truly inspiring. Actually it is a learning curve for mummy. At least u r a teacher yourself. Another mummy friend encouraged me to start my blog. Iโ€™m further motivated now to recap some interesting tidbits of those days and of course the pri sch journeyโ€ฆ

Agree that Daiso has good craft supplies like origami paper, pipecleaners, felt, DIY buttons, etc. You can venture on paper flowers crafts (with origami paper, pipecleaners) or making practical and usable crafts like buttons hair-ties (with button shells covered with fabric/lace).

Sand art can also be fun to do at home (albeit messy) and stain glass too. We are also into decoupage!

I used to download craft templates from Nickelodean & Martha Stewart websites. My kid loved them!

        Have fun crafting!

Oh yes, for girls, beading can be fun too! Daiso is also a good place to source for beads and nylon string. With beads, string & some creativity, you can come up with unique โ€˜self-madeโ€™ braclets, necklaces, rings, earrings and even bag charms!

Hi Dots and Butterfly123.... great to hear from two of you ๐Ÿ™‚

@Dots Maybe you like to share more about your experience with crafting with your child/children....Wow decoupage is something new to me.....I haven't heard much about it but would like to find out more:) Do you want to elaborate more about practical and usable crafts which you did? I remember I used to make a paper marche Tiger Piggy Bank with my students! We had lots of fun together ๐Ÿ™‚ Can't agree with you enough on what you mentioned about Daiso.. I love shopping there too for craft materials.....I am currently looking for a plastic needle to start my toddler on sewing....I believe that would help her to refine her motor skills and improve eye-hand coordination ๐Ÿ™‚

@Butterfly Would like to share more about paper art? You mean trying out crafting with different sorts of paper? What kind of crafting have you done so far with paper....would be happy to hear more from you?

              Have Fun!!!

                Hi soundt2x

My girl often joins her classmates for playdates and we found beading to be an activity enjoyed by them and something everyone can bring home.

I started my girl on painting when she was 2-3 years old. I would given her a palette of colours, brushes, sponges and guide her on how we can create different prints/strokes and even colours by mixing. She also gets to stamp her hand prints with the paint. I know if a friend who uses this as wrapping paper for kids' presents.

Using felt, buttons, sequins, beads, we would craft felt muffins, cookies and teabags which we use as 'tea party snack' when we play with her toy teacups & teapot.

With felt, you can also create felt flowers and make them into hair ties/clips.

There are also shrink art where you colour the template, oven it and you'll get charms, keychains, accessories from these shrunk pieces of art.

Crafts never fail to thrill my girl. It not only occupy her (keeps her away from the TV!), relaxes her mind (without stressing her like homework does), it also encourages creativity ๐Ÿ™‚

@Dots..... Wow I am really impressed and motivated to read what you did with your girl.....hope more parents will share like you ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah, I love engaging my daughter in painting too.....somehow this is fastest and the most natural way to learn about colours instead of drilling her \"RED is RED\" and I know you understand what I meant right?.....

Beads is something I would really love to explore......but at the age of 2 not sure if this is a good option.....There might be a risk of her mouthing the bead.....so better try it at a later stage....

Felt is another interesting materials but I find that felt materials in SG are quite expensive.....saw some at POPULAR at Bras Basah and find it quite ex... ๐Ÿ˜ž hope Daiso sells them soon ๐Ÿ™‚

                  Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚

I saw some kids at shopping centre doing some craft works but never know what is that cos never have time to check out. Recently, I went to Pa Sat Ma Lam and won 1pc of sand art craft, when home tried with my 3 yrs old gals and found it quite fun. But half way thru the craft, realised some colour sand not enough cos they only give very small pack of sand. e.g. like Hello kitty, the white colour need a lot then we never complete the craft.

I was looking to see where to sell it but seem can't find it anywhere. Not in stationery shop or in Popular, where they only sell in sets and only come with small packs of sand too. Then I search thru googles but can't seem to find anything and almost wanted to order from overseas. Finally, I found http://www.eplayeurs.com/, they sell quite a few of craft and also send lose sand, most importantly, they are very economic in price. The lady who I speak with also very helpful.
