Yes. It shouldn't be in past tense as the verb that \"holds\" the tense in this case is 'did' thus the following verb 'scold' should be in the infinitive form.

            Rhhn:
Any compo plots which are interesting? Not those clichè ones.

Problem with approaching it in this manner, is that when enough people start writing plots written by others it becomes a cliche. The best way round this, it to have your DS/DD to start reading good story books instead of model compositions.

I personally feel that reading model compositions only have a limited usage, as it only helps pupils who have extreme difficulty expressing their ideas. They can use the models as a spring board to help them craft their writing, but ultimately they need to quickly learn how to express their ideas in an original manner.

Too often, pupils who learn to write from model compositions sound like they are produced from a factory line, no personality, no originality... If time is on your side, encourage your DD/DS read widely first, then start experimenting in expressing his/her ideas in his/her own words. All this is based on the assumption that he/she is not taking the paper this year...

Okay, thanks. Yet it sounds weird many teachers tell us different things. Who to follow?
Hi,

                        Can someone help. TIA 😄

                        Comprehension Cloze:

Peter was left bloodied with __________ that required 180 stitches - 140 stitches to close six wounds on his neck and a further 40 stitches on his neck and underarm area.

                        Answer provided is wounds.
                        Can use injuries?

\"wounds\" is the most appropriate answer. \"injuries\", however, should be acceptable, although not as good.

                        How about \"cuts\"?
wounds is like bruises. cuts is by knife or sharp objects. injuries is like accidents, simple hits and so on
