Hi
Did anyone hear about agent fee for fresh indo maids is now $1600 as indo gov does not allow their maid to pay agent fee β¦all costs directed to employer? -

Hi,
My current indo maid is leaving soon after 5 years. I am surprise with all new rules.
Hopes to share this for those who need a new helper or change helper soon -> be prepared for longer timing and more $. ( now is back to many years ago).
This week i went to source around for a new indo helper. The changes is huge and few agent told me i will be the first few batch who try out the new ruling.
Even thg it started at May'12, but there were either no maid or no enforcement due to Raya holiday.
1st, now upon MOM approval, all indo maid needs to go thr Indo embassy to sign agreement.
Indo government w base on this agreement, let them attend 400 hours (new fresh maid) / 100 hours (work abroad maid) of training.
Agreement also is needed for indo doc processing.
More parties involved, more paper work, long training hour at Indo...
So it mean overall it w take 2 - 2.5 months to arrive.
No agent dare to promise me it will arrive earlier than that.
2nd, in fact the loan for helper is nearly same. But they loan from local Indo bank
Here is fishy part  ... I walk ard few agencies.. The loan range can be from S$2100-S$3200. Poor girl...the diffrence is so huge!
3rd, agency fee. From $1200 to $1800 with different packaging. Some call it agency fee, some call it service fee...
If replacement, some has extra processing fee(from $300-$800), some will not.
4th, this story cannot be confirm as different agent told me different stories.
If a fresh maid cannot work well with employer, she might need to go back Indo and start new all over again... haha...
Nobody dare to confirm this part!!!
bec till now, first batch of maid just arrived for less than 1-2 weeks, no complaint yet!!!
My agent told me in case new maid cannot work out, be prepare to wait for another 2-2.5 months for another repalcement.
Good luck for all who need to source a new maid. -

Panickymum, yes, the new ruling with the PH government is that not even $1 may be deducted. Else the Agent here and in PH will kenna blackmarked.
That's a situation no one wants be in, so the agent has our interest
and theirs

Hi hopes, does tis applies for ex-sin maids or transfered ones whom completed their contract?
-
Hi, shebeauty,
Do you mean ex sin in indo n coming bk again?
Yes, via agent they need to attend 100 hours lesson in indo.
If direct hiring, emm i asked agent, not sure!
Even they know i dun think they will teach me⦠Haha
Or you are refering to indo maid in Sin who will continue service. I think 2 areas need to take note.
I guess if they dun hv KtNkn card (indo identity card) n if they plan to go bk indo for holiday, will they need indo embassy letter? Last time, my maid dun need. She get a letter from local village head letter. Better check on this area
2nd, indo maid Passport renewal at embassy. Since few years ago, they hv enforced employer to sign contract on the spot with helper. Do take note the min salary is $450 per month. Currently still can indicate no off day. -
wow!! tQ u practically cover on all areas
a question.. if my current maid's contract end july 2014.. $500 with 2off days. nxt yr shud we increase her pay n gif 4days off? -
shebeautiful:
No, the new rules only come into effect for contracts signed after Jan 1st 2013. She should have been aware of the changes when she agreed to the $500 and 2 off days so you are not obliged to increase.wow!! tQ u practically cover on all areas

Current indo maid min pay is $450 n not request for off day.
Yr pay is more than current min pay.
Only new contract signed next year need weekly off day.
Again whether our maid with old contract will ask for it..
Haha it another headache creacted for us!! :heresmyfish:
