Edgefield Primary

Not really considering the new school… My next choice is Horizon.
Edgefield and horizon both have their own student care. this is my considering factor too…
What make you consider new school?
Let not worry too much… -
Your neighbour’s daughter study at Edgefield? She like the school? Any comments on the teacher? I actually went to the breakfast with principle last wk. Everything look ok but just that their student care is using their current classroom for the student and may not have enough student care to cater all student.
I went to the road show for the new school too. What make me considering new school is because everything is new. The student get to enjoy the new facilities and get more attention frm the teachers as they only have P1. Both schools will have student care as well.
With the new MOE rules I’m thinking most singaporean with eventually get to enroll all their kids to Mee Toh and Edgefiled or Horizon. Will that mean the new school will have more PR and foreigner? -
Hi
my neighbour’s daughter used to be from edgefield. she is o level already…
you went for the breakfast with the principal? how was it? i missed it. i have a meeting so did not attend last minute. how is the school environment? can you share your findings?
I do agree with you on the new facilities and nice enviroment… and also on PR and foreigner issue… I’m quite concern about this too. -
So far the principle look friendly. They do not have compulsory CCA for P1 and P2. No exam and no homework to bring home. They do have some exercise at school but usually should be able to finish at school, and bite size assessment to test for the kid at school. Actually I think this is standard and same to most of the primary school example mee toh and the 2 new schools.
The school seem clean and nice. Student care will roughly cater 50 places for P1 student. The kid will have their lunch at canteen and shower at the school and sleep at the current classroom (using sleeping mat). They quite emphasize on dancing, every level will get to learn different dance. eg:cha cha. I guess thru this dancing can build up student confident, social skill and respect. He mention they will have a graduation ball dance for P6 student. Every student is looking forward to attend it as they will dance at the actual ball room.
Based on previous balloting result, they normally only able to accept student stay within 1km.
Another reason why I consider the new school is because their school timing is start at 8am instead of 7:20am. Maybe we can send msg to each other to share more infor on this. As I guess this is not a good idea to discuss PR and foreigner issues here

Hi All mommy,
I’m new here. My dd is in P2J (2012). Just finished SA2 but I think she dnt do well. Anyone can share how to get a P2 kid to do homework on her own. As she is still very playful. Memory also very poor. Especially Eng & MT (CL). -

Hi All…another newbie kiasu parent here…
My gal born in 2009…will be P1 in 2015.
Based on current policy, are we given priority if we are staying less than 1km (staying 195A periwinkle) within EFPS?
Is there a yrly openhouse for EFPS?
Any experienced parents to adviss me?
Thanks. -
For your question on less than 1 km priority, it depends on situation.
For instance, suppose the school has 50 vacancies for a particular phase and there are more than 50 applicants for the places offered, SCs will be given absolute priority over PRs and foreigners.
Scenario A: If there are less than 50 SC applicants living within 1 km, all the applicants will get in without balloting.
Scenario B: If there are more than 50 SC applicants living within 1 km, then all applicants living outside 1km will be turned away and those living within 1km will undergo balloting.
Hope this helps.
So far, there has not been any news about an open house for EFPS but the school had Breakfast with Potential P1 parents twice, once in May and once in July. Maybe you can check with the school itself to see if there's any more of such sessions or if they will have an open house. I doubt that they will have any more this year so as the P1 registration has already started. However, since your girl is going in only in 2015, then, you can plan ahead based on their calendar!mindbox33:
