I hope that my place will be ready for move-in before DS goes to P1.

Its soooooo nerve-wrecking!

Seriously, if time permits, u shld consider PV. This yr balloting is so unpredictable due to the change in policy. Even that PR exclude, sc Beyond 2km also \"trying\" their luck. For my ds's school all 25PR are out. SC beyond 2km still has to ballot but pp still trying their luck.

I agree.

Even the neighbourhood schools are facing over-subscription nowadays.

I have emailed Horizon but they told me to look through their website.
They have a parent volunteer tab in it but its empty now. Maybe PV has closed for registration.
And not sure whether I will be able to qualify for 2B by doing the PV work listed inside the PV tab or I actually have to call the school to register my interest?

And I have 1 yr to clock in 40hours right?
Depend on schools. Some school requires more than 40 hrs. I heard NYPS is increasing their PV hours and already the existing requirement is more than 40 hrs. The school I am aiming requires 60hrs.

I believe for Punggol View, there shld be no need for PV as it is a new school and will have its first batch students in 2013.

But as for Horizon, definitely have to do PV if I want to enrol DS in but this school is a distance away.

I think PV for Horizon is at most 40hrs. Keeping my fingers crossed! 😄

Hi! I am a newbie here staying in boon lay with daughter born nov. 2008

any feedbacks re: pcf blk 262, 207, 631, 642 and 490 little wings?
trying my luck to get her to n2 this coming sept. term and k1 next year.
Is it true, I should be already looking for P1 school for her by this time?

if you are looking at PV, then yes. the closing of the registration for pv is usually 2 yrs before the enrolment.

Hi all,

my child is coming to 4yo this Dec. Currently for enrichment :- she’s w Shichida(Spingleaf, 1 year), Berries(>1/2yr), Christofori(>1/2 yr).

Tot of withdraw her from Shichida as recently they’ve changed a teacher which we(5 mummies from d same class) tik tat she’s not connected(eyes always blink / closed), not as caring as the previous and inexperienced in teaching d class(even I flip the flashcards faster them her !). One of the mummies ever wrote to Shichida request to change teachers with all other mummies consents, but ended up nothing has been done. Furthermore, tik the Mgt told the teacher abt it and d teacher even say out bluntly after the class tat anything can feedback to her directly … All of us so disappointed with them/ their style of handling parent’s feedback !!

Any other recmd for enrichment class on mental arithmetic or phonics or other areas for a 4yo child ? TIA !!

* P.S :- tried posting this queries on other thread but doesn’t seems to have reply form there, thus, post in this thread …

Hi! I am working mum of 3 children (4yr, 2yr and 1yr).

I am thinking of sending my girl for enrichment class as well as prepare her for primary school.
Recently, had a PTC in her childcare and teacher mentioned that she needs assistance in show and tell and her mandarin is not good, she tends to slang as she is better in English but English she cannot pronounce some letters well… Anyone had any recommendation for Chinese enrichment and phonics?

Hi PrincessAriel

I will recommend Berries for chinese enrichment.. my dd2 will start Jan next year.
My dd1 was with them for the past 2 years.. I remember at the beginning, she refused to speak to the teachers in chinese (could be because we don't speak the language at home  ), but now in K2 she will tell me that chinese is the language she like best.
I personally feel that the school is able to cultivate interest for the language. Once you get the children interested, they will start to speak and read on their own.

Cheers:)

I’m choosing the grl route. Anyone same as me?

We just went to legoland last weekend. Fun but super hot. No shades n we got really drenched when it rained.
