IF....I say IF....our kids been selected, how to choose the school? will MOE post according to our choice or by the location / add where you stay? Anyone knoe students from NORTH ( woodlands/yishun) will normally post to which school? seems all are very far.
You make your 3 choices & MOE will try to post according to your preference, subject to availability.
I stay in Northwest, nearest choices : NHPS, HPPS & NYPS. Yes, all very far ....

Hi all,
this is my first post. Similar to many others my DS also appeared for GEP 2nd round test and is now eagerly waiting for the results. I know some of GEP schools are preferred more than others. My questions is for Indian PR ( whose native language is neither Chinese/Malay or Tamil) are there any other specific consideration in selecting the GEP school. I think SAP school only offer Chinese as mother Tongue. So are SAP GEP school out of bound whose mother tongue is not Chinese.
Just want to be prepared in case DS does get selected? -

You are encouraged to list 3 choices. However, we only put 1 school in NorthWest cos it's the nearest. Die Die must go there. LOL
Some of my classmates came from all over the island. It may seem far at first, but the kids will get used to it lah. The kids never complain about the distance. Only the parents did. :boogie: -

Yes it was a rush. May be MOE did that for a purpose - the longer you drag to make decision, the more worries you have about the program. So don't think so much. just make swift decision lah. :evil:
Last year also the same, everything happened in a rush, got the results, attend the talk, make enquiry about the school & make the choice, all within 1 week, I think.polkadot:
During my DS time I remember yellow envelop was given on monday. Talk was on thur n deadline for submission on the following mon. We were unprepared for the offer n had to scrunble to find out more info abt GE program. Time was really very tight to make such a Big decision.
So if the talk is on 10 nov I think result may b next week.

We too :celebrate: Just put 1 choice & say die die must go there, otherwise will opt out :evil: Ya, DS2's classmates from all over the island but kids get used to it, just that they may sometimes feel very tired... mine gets up at 5.30 am and reach home 7.00 pm everyday, so after dinner, sleeps .... and yes, I definitely complain a lot about the distancePuzz...zzle:

Estimate 500 will be offered on GEP program. Maybe MOE would put in certain percentage of extra places in the event those not taking up the GEP prog & choose to remain in the current school.

But that toughen him up. He enjoyed his new school very much. GEP program proved to be stimulating for him. We are glad we made the right decision. :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah: -

Will MOE post u only after allocated those with 2nd , 3rd choice first. just like Pr 1 phC. Is there a risk?
