Is it possible to give constructive feedback for group tuition?

I doubt it is possible bcos scenario is similar to classroom setting.
That was the reason why I had to withdraw my son from tuition centre.
Honestly, my son was also very weak in his Math. That was why I had to get 1-1 for his Math & Chinese. Tuition centre was not able to give him that necessary attention.
oh janet, small group tuition is still not too bad i think...

i dunno how big the classroom setting u mean, my dd's tuition class is 6pax... and i do request for feedback every now and then from the tutor...

sorry ya.... p1 still learning phonics?? i thought it was supposed to be kindy only?

putting him in tuition or not depends on his capability, it is not a must...

I think don't stress your child. :imdrowning: Let him join some short enrichment course to fill his time during school holidays. Unless your child got problem reading than may be some phonics is good.

Home tuition vs tuition centre, what do you think? I have a student whose parent pulled her out from the tuition centre, because she just wasn’t making any progress. Does this happen to anyone out there?

I think group tuition is quite effective if its a small group. kids can make friends and interaction helps them grow up and learn how to interact with others.

I always believe that for languages, its better to be in a centre, so the kids can talk in proper english or chinese with each other. The teacher must also be good and strict with the way they get them to chat and talk to each other too.

hi, need advise on which is better? Home tution, enrichment or group tution at tuition center. My son need help in chinese. :? :? :thankyou:

                  Hi,

Usually individual tuition is better. For more of my opinion, take a look at http://www.fulltimetutor.wordpress.com

I think it depends. 1-to-1 tuition might not be able to have student’s interacting and sharing views. If you really look into the benefits of group/tuition centres, some students actually learn from other student’s mistakes that were being discussed in class. However, some students don’t like the idea of a tuition centre as it gets noisy or if they are shy to ask questions in front of the class.

So, i think it depends on the individual. Let the child choose for him/herself.

Agree with you. But class size in tuition centre tends to be a bit too big for adequate individual attention. The best solution is to have small group tuition at home (ideally just 2 students who are already comfortable with each other).

Class size of 10 and below should be fine. It depends if the teacher can handle and teach. My brother has his own centre and students are doing as well as when he does individual tuition.
